Carlos' POV

I woke up and felt as if something was missing. I looked at the mirror my black hair was sticking up.

"Rise and shine!" Granny, the owner of this place also my boss, yelled.

"I'm up I'm up!" I groaned.

"Well, then congratulations!" Granny smirks, "Your shift starts in five minutes, get a move on!"

"Okay, be down in a minute." I pulled out my hoody from the closet.

Jay, my roommate, he's a jerk smirked, "Nice! What did you do to make her mad?!"

"I didn't do anything!" I whined.

Just as I said it the mayor's son came in.

"Carlos," he looks worried, "have you seen Evie?"

"Who's Evie?" I asked.

"My sister!" he screams, "Evie, blue haired princess. 18 years old, dark brown eyes. Always wearing dresses and a tiara. Evie!"

"I'm sorry but you are an only child. In case she's real," I smirked, "introduce me. She sounds hot."

The guy didn't seem to happy about my comment, but can you blame me the way he describe this mysterious girl -well it made her sound hot. Though I knew this kid had mental problems, I mean being adopted and all, then all those crazy stories that landed his biological mother to the mental hospital and him to the office of Dr. Hopper, the only psychiatrist in town. I really thought that after six years of therapy he would have been healed, but here he is again telling me about an imaginary sister, he has.

"I'll fix this, Carlos." he ran towards the door, "I promise. Jay, you will remember."

Jay and I looked at each other. "That kid's got problems!" he chuckles.

We left and went straight to the diner, I was the busboy, Jay dishwasher.

Granny walks out the kitchen with a tray of plates with strawberries, shape like hearts.

I starred at it, something was missing. I felt it when I stared at the display of food. Something wasn't right. Evie? I thought, Why did I think of that name? Another name popped in my head, Mal.
