Chapter 48

It is now Valentines Day and I'm super excited. But for some reason Trey's been acting super weird. I don't know what's up with him and it's freaking me out.

"Hey Dria."

I looked up from my homework to the person standing beside me.

"What's up Joel."

He sat down next to me and put his head in his hands. I patted his back to calm him down.

"It's okay. She might not be pregnant." I told him.

He let out a long sigh. "I hope not. I mean I love that girl with everything in me but I don't wanna be no father right now. We are too young and that would delay us both from our future or and make it harder."

"I hear ya. Y'all need to go get checked out. There is a good chance she isn't but still. Y'all sneak around way too much and it was a matter of time before something serious happened."

Joel looked at me and made the -__- face. I laughed.

"Well, I'm just being honest. Chill..."

"Yea, I hear ya. But look, I gotta go."

He got up and grabbed his bag that was on the floor.

"Okay, but can I ask you a question?"

He put his bag on and looked at me. "Sure. What's up?"

"Do you know what's wrong with Trey?"

His face turned upside down. Like there was something he couldn't tell me.

"So that's a yes?" I asked him.

"I do but I can't tell you. Bye."

Before I could say anything, Joel was gone.

"Ugh!"

It is last period but everyone was called to the gym for a Valentines party or whatever. Everyone was in there playing games and eating but me, I was sitting on the bleachers looking at everyone. Trey has been avoiding me all damn day. And it's pissing me off.

"Hey Dria." Kenny said.

Kendrick is this fine dude from my chemistry class. I sit in front of him and he's always making jokes about different things. He's hilarious.

He's brown skinned with a little curly fade. Kinda short and has a beautiful Californian accent and is very social, which is why I'm kinda surprised that he's seating by me right now.

"Hey. What are you doing here?" I asked him.

"Well I do go to school here."

I looked at him like he was crazy. "No, I mean sitting by me. Shouldn't you be out there playing basketball or something?"

He put his hand over his heart like I hurt him. "I'm so offended. I thought we were friends Alexandria." He started fake crying.

I tried my hardest not to laugh. I gave him a hug and he hugged me back.

"It's okay Kenny." I said to him.

Then he stated balling out with fake tears. Told you he's a character.

"You're a good friend girl." He said still hugging me.

I smiled. He just made my day.

*TREY'S POV*

"Bruh, what's he doing over there with Dria?" Maurice said looking over at the bleachers.

I looked over there as well and Dria was hugging Kendrick. That nigga always wanted to get at her. But she wants to hug him tho? Bruh...

"The fuck!?! What the hell is she doing?"

"Dude calm down, breathe."

"Naw bruh, that nigga always wanted to get at her. Ima break his neck."

Before I could walk away, Maurice had his hand on my arm keeping me from moving.

"Dude, they're just hugging, chill. Don't make a scene in front of everyone. Think about how that would make you look."

I calmed myself down and just walked out the gym. I mean I know that they were just hugging but that dude always gets on my nerves. People are always telling me that he stays flirting with her and I'm just like...what? How does that make me look as her boyfriend and how does that make her look knowing she's with someone?

"Trey it wasn't even like that. He was faking and I hugged him to be funny." Dria told me.

I just sat there trying to let the anger pass over me.

"Trey?" she asked. I still didn't say nothing.

"Are you seriously going to ignore me?"

...

"Okay bet. Fuck you!" she said then grabbed her stuff and left.

I don't know what's wrong with me but I didn't even follow or try to stop her. I let her go.
