Chapter 5

He smiled at me then...he kissed me. Woo, I was NOT expecting that. But his lips were soft and gentle and I truly liked the way they felt. Even tho it was like a couple of seconds lol.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to..." he started.

But I cut him off with another kiss. After about two minutes, he pulled back.

"I can't do this. You're in a vulnerable state and I can't take a vantage of you like this. "

That really makes me smile. That fact that he actually cares about me just kinda...turns me on a bit. Shhh...

"Can I be honest?" I asked him. He nodded his head. "I've kinda had a crush on you ever since...yesterday? Maybe before. But I didn't know you all that well so I didn't wanna act on the feeling." I said as I put my head down.

I laughed and I looked at him. "I knew you liked me."

I rolled my eyes and laughed. "Whatever."

"But hey, it's cute. But I like you too and I would love it if we could get to know each other better. Then maybe..."

"Ask and ye shall receive." I said smiling.

He started smiling.

We talked till it got dark. I ended up telling him the whole story about the sperm donor. I told him about my family. He told me about his. He had a little brother and his mom left when he was younger. So he somewhat knows how I feel. I feel so comfortable with him and I've only known him for like...two days. That's crazy.

"Whoa, it's 10:17."

I looked at my phone, and he was right. "Yea, I guess I have to get going. It is a school night."

He said he would call me later and we said our goodbyes. I called Alex as I stopped at a red light.

"Yea?" he said picking up. He didn't sound like his happy self.

"Where are you?" I asked.

"In hell, where are you?"

I rolled my eyes. "On my way there." I hung up. I had to make sure he was there first.

I pulled into the driveway then got out. I walked into the house and it was quiet. Alex and my mom's car was parked in the driveway but Donell's car wasn't here. 

I grabbed my stuff by the steps and took them into my room. I charged my phone up then went to Alex's room.

I knocked on his door but he didn't say anything so I walked in. He was sitting on his king sized bed with his back against the headboard listening to music. I climbed into next to him and leaned my head against his shoulder. He just rubbed his fingers on my forehead. I then fell asleep.

When I woke up, it was pitch black. I looked at the clock on the nightstand and it read 3:43 am. I then dropped back on the bed. Wait, this isn't my bed. I got up then turned on the lights. I was in Alex's room, and he was on his couch in the corner knocked out. I turned the lights back off then went to my room. I got in bed then went back to sleep.

When I woke up, I felt different in a way. I felt relaxed sort of.

I looked at my clock. It read 11:48 am. WHAT!

I'm late for school. I jumped out of bed then went to take a quick shower and brush my teeth. I got out then put on some black sweat pants and a purple v-neck with my black and was vans. I throw my hair in a ponytail and went back to my room. I grabbed my phone off the charger and my bags.

I ran downstairs and the house was silent. I left the house, locking the down behind me and drove to school.

I pulled into the parking lot ten minutes later. Walked into the school and went straight to the office. I explained to the lady at the desk that I overslept and she told me to go ahead on to lunch because it was about to start in a few minutes.

I put my backpack in my locker and grabbed my purse and walked to lunch. I grabbed a grilled chicken salad and a bottle of water then walked out to my usual stop outside. I'm not really hungry, I have a lot on my mind.

I pulled my legs to my chest and rested my head on my arms while they were on top of my knees.

How could he come back after all these years and think things can be good between us? How could she just let him? And why didn't anybody wake me up this morning?

"You okay?" Trey asked me as he sat down beside me.

I looked at him and smiled. "Yea."

He wrapped his arms around me and hugged me tightly. My, he smells so good.

"So you finally made it?" Someone said.

I let go of Trey and there stood Alex smiling at me.

"Ohhhh, I hate you. Why didn't you wake me up?" I asked him.

"Hey, that's not my job." He laughed then walked off.

I rolled my eyes. Trey laughed.

"But are we still on this weekend?" He asked.

"Sure. Where are we going? What are we doing?" I asked.

"I'm not telling you. Just be ready by 11:30 Sunday morning."

I smiled. "Okay. I'll text you the address."

He smiled back.

After school, I went straight home. When I pulled into the driveway, my moms car wasn't here and I was happy. I really don't feel like hearing her voice right now. I got out the car and went into the house and up to my room.

I dropped my stuff on the floor and fell on my bed. I took a deep breath and left it out. Then my phone rung. I sighed in frustration and grabbed my phone out of my purse.

"Yea?" I said as a answered it without looking and laying back down on my bed.

"Hey baby, what's up?" a male voice said.

"Ummm....you are ?" I asked.

He laughed. Wait, I know that laugh. "Issa!?!" I yelled

He laughed again. "Yea baby. What's up?"

"Oh my gosh! I haven't like talked to you in forever!"

Issa is one of my best friends. We grow up in Atlanta together. Went to the same elementary school but different high schools, but we were still close as ever. He's like another brother to me, man I love and miss him like crazy. He was always the level headed one in out group.

"I know right. It's like niggas don't wanna call me anymore. It's koo tho."

"Boy bye. You like changing your number every other day in shit. How am I supposed to keep up with you?"

He laughed. "Well, shit I don't even know."

We talked for like a hour then said our goodbyes. Talking to him made me miss home even more. I haven't talked to none of my homies in like forever.

I put my phone on the charger then took a shower. After I got out, I put on some Cookie Monster pjs shorts and a white tank. I did some homework then went to sleep.
