Ship: Analogical. But it's not gonna happen in this chapter.

Trigger warning: 1 curse word. I've placed a warning literally before the part with the curse word.

Okay, I know that this is a one-shot booklet but let's defy the rules, shall we? This is going to be a two-chapter story.

Okay, it's like 10pm here and I've been working on this for a while without editing. There are gonna be some typos, so forgive me.

I used a prompt I came up with after watching the Accepting Anxiety 2/2 video:

'What if Virgil is the one who calms Thomas down after an attack?'

Note is at the bottom!

The traits had accepted Virgil just yesterday. Reminiscing about their new bond was a pleasant memory. Some things were still left unexplained though, which caused Logan to be suspicious. Logically speaking, if Virgil's only goal was to protect, why did Thomas get anxiety attacks? The other traits, excluding Virgil, always assumed that the attacks were intentional due to their misconception of believing Virgil to be a villain.

Perhaps they weren't seeing the whole story. At least, not yet. Logan aimed to change that and so, called upon a meeting with Patton and Roman whilst Virgil was getting some well-needed sleep. They knew that he would sleep for several hours, so they had a plentiful amount of time to discuss. To prevent the predicament of being overtaken by a trait's room, they discussed in a private room that Roman had agreed to make.

When they entered the room, Logan wasted no time in pulling out a whiteboard with the word 'Anxiety Attacks' towards the left hand corner in a bold red. This was not a topic that Patton and Roman wanted to go over, evident by their fidgeting.
"I apologise for taking up your time. I shall cut straight to the chase. I have reason to believe that Virg does not intentionally cause anxiety attacks. I have several theories, none of which have been proven but should be worth delving into."
Roman looked as if he wanted to speak up in disbelief but managed to seal his mouth. He knew that Virgil wasn't a villain and decided that it may clear some things up if he listen to Logan's theories. Patton just nodded like he too had some suspicions. He might look it, but Patton was definitely not naive.

"Do you recall that Virg is always in the control room after we return from comforting Thomas, as well as the fact that he seems to be exhausted and drained of energy?" Silent nods of the head were the response he received.

"We automatically assumed that it was due to his intentional activation of an attack. However, whenever we tried to overwhelm Thomas with an aspect of ourselves, our energy levels were still plentiful. Of course, we must account for the fact that we all work differently. This alone is not concrete evidence of my claims but I have noticed several other occurrences that appear to be irregular." All the while Logan was talking, the other two took in the information and tried to think back to see if they could remember anything that might serve as proof.

"Now, think back to our most recent interaction with him, when we entered his 'room'. When we began becoming corrupted, Virgil was the one who calmed Thomas down. We don't typically use that breathing technique during his attacks, so if he truly was activating the attack purposely and watching from the monitors, he wouldn't have picked that up. Sure, he may have learnt it whilst browsing online, but it is irrelevant information for him if he is the attacker. He had that knowledge the moment he needed it. We can assume that he has used this information often, so who and what for?" Pausing to slow down and review what other points he had in mind, Logan continued.

"Virgil has also stated that his main purpose is to protect Thomas. But perhaps he is protecting Thomas from more than risks in reality. With someone as angsty as Virgil, you would expect Thomas' anxiety would be much more heightened than what it currently is. So, why is it that Thomas' anxiety is only slightly over what is considered average?"
