Ship: Prinxiety (not much, but it's there)
Okay, cause you guys got hit by the feels train in the previous angsty fic, I decided to go for a fluffy fic!
Cause you guys seems to need it, haha.
Note is at the bottom!
The day was going surprisingly well. Thomas hadn't felt anxious at all and he didn't feel hesitant to go out. He was able to approach the day with a huge grin settled on his face and everything felt overall okay.
Roman, Patton and Logan were slightly concerned when Thomas crossed the road without looking both ways first (even though the road was practically empty) but they remembered that they had experienced it before.
You see, Virgil hardly ever got enough sleep. It was evident through the way he covered his dark circles with foundation, concealer and dark eyeshadow. On worse days, Virgil would turn up looking like a raccoon with the amount of eyeshadow that he had packed on. Both the fanciful trait and moral trait would barely be able to hold back their giggles whilst Logan could hardly conceal his own smiles when Virgil paraded in.
They knew that these days meant that Virgil was finally catching up on some well needed sleep. He'd spend a whole day sleeping, but not before programming anxiety (even if it was significantly weaker) into Thomas so that he didn't become completely reckless. When the other three traits found out about these days, they were glad that he was finally getting some more sleep, especially considering the fact that Virgil barely got an hour of sleep per day. Unfortunately, these days (which were named 'Say Hi To God' or 'S.H.T.G' cause he slept like a log) occurred every 2-ish months, so Virgil still wasn't getting much sleep. But it was better than nothing.
Patton and Logan had also expected this to happen since the dark trait would often sink into S.H.T.G when he became depressed and the previous night, Roman had lost his temper and said some... uh, harsh things. Let's not mention them, shall we?
~timeskip to the next day cause idk what to write. It's late and I have to wake up early tmr, but I'm staying up late for you guys~
It had been almost 32 hours since they heard from Virgil. They were getting slightly worried since said trait always woke up after at least 24 hours, the latest being 27. So once Thomas had settled into bed, the three traits decided to go to Virgil's room and check on him.
They knocked tentatively on Virgil's door, listening for some form of reply. They received none.
With fear starting to creep up on them, they tried the handle. Surprisingly, it was unlocked. When it was pushed open, they noticed how the room was pitch dark. Patton fumbled around for a light switch, which he prompt found on the wall next to him. Flicking it on, they looked around the room for Virgil.
And they froze.
Their eyes locked onto the translucent figure, clad in dark clothes, who was lying on the ground. It was unmistakably the anxious trait that they had been looking for.
Logan swallowed the lump in his throat, already knowing that the translucency was a sign that Virgil was, uh, y'know. He tried to keep it his eyes from the limp body but was unable to take his eyes away. He assessed the way that there was a small bottle in Virgil's left hand (which he assumed had originally contained sleeping pills), the way his eyelids were half closed so you could see the lifeless eyes that were badly hidden under them, the way a hand was positioned close to Virgil's throat which probably meant that he had gone through a lot of pain after overdosing on the pills, the way that Virgil was sloppily splayed across the ground which indicated that Virgil had collapsed. He took it all in and had to cover his mouth to stop his stomach from emptying.
