Ship: BROTP/OTP Logicality (lmao, I accidentally typed Moxiety in the title before realise 'oh shit, nope!')
TW: Mention of animal abuse, but nothing too brutal.
I'm gonna be talking about some historical stuff in this fic, so I hope you guys will enjoy learning a bit! Don't worry, I'm not a teacher. I'm not boring, lol.
Anyways, tomorrow will probably be a Moxiety chapter that I've been meaning to do for a while. I just haven't done Logicality in a while, so I thought I'd do it first.
Note is at the bottom!
Logan sniffed, bringing his tissue back up to his eyes to soak up the tears that had been running down his cheeks. He pulled his blanket up a little further, as if the covers would protect him somehow. Almost reluctantly, his finger tapped on the laptop's trackpad again.
He watched in horror and sadness at what was playing out on his screen, and without noticing, a small whimper that resembled that of a dog's slipped through his lips.
"Logan?!" Patton burst through the door, slightly out of breath. "What's wrong?! You're crying??"
Logan sniffed again, wiping his swollen-red eyes with the napkin again as he shut his laptop. "I'm not."
"Hey," the fatherly trait pulled him into a gentle hug and settled into a more soothing voice, "it's okay. Everything's okay."
"No, it isn't! At least, it wasn't!"
"Shh, shh. Let's talk about this, yeah?"
"I don't want to..." Logan pouted, crossing his arms.
"Aw, c'mon kiddo. I don't like seeing you sad. Please?"
"...fine..."
Patton let go of Logan, opting to sit on the bed, facing him. "You can tell me anything, okay? I won't judge you or anything."
He nodded.
"M'kay, good. Now, want to tell me how this all started?"
Logan sighed, gesturing to the book next to his laptop. "Researching history. Specifically European Imperialism and its expansion into Australia in the 1830s."
Patton quirked an eyebrow, confused at how that would evoke such an emotional response from the typically 'icky-feelings' Logic. "Okay..."
"And as I progressed in reading through it, I reached the section of the introduced species. Unfortunately, this book did not provide much detail, therefore, causing me to look further into it. And, uh..." He hesitated, glancing quickly at the closed laptop.
Patton placed a reassuring hand on his shoulder. "C'mon, kiddo. You can do it."
"Yes, well," Logan coughed to clear his throat, "I came across a video that spoke about the species that were introduced into Australia and how they quickly became pests. And in 1949, 24 rabbits were introduced. And due to their rapid... multiplication, several thousands of them soon emerged. And that caused some rather... unpleasant events to occur as a result."
"What do you mean?"
Taking in a shuddering breath, Logan opened up his laptop. "It would be better to show you."
His finger hovered over the play button for a second before he swiftly reached over for a box of tissues and placed it between them. "You may need these."
