Chapter 12

(Carlos's POV)

After ng drama namin ni Sophie, ginawa ko lahat para mapatawa siya. Nakapag-kwentuhan na rin kami tungkol sa mga happenings that we missed from each others life when we're apart.

After that, maya-maya biglang dumating si Riley, nakalimutan ko pala, may boyfriend na nga pala si Sophie.

"Hey Sophie, andito ka lang pala, pinag-alala mo ko." Sabi ni Riley kay Sophie.

Then his eyes met mine, "Hey Carlos, andito ka rin pala." Sabi niya and I guess I just heard a jealousy from his voice.

"Ah, oo nagpahangin lang ako." Sabi ko.

Hindi na siya sumagot, instead, "Sige, pare, ihahatid ko na si Sophie, una na kami."

"Ha? Tapos na ba yung party?" Tanong naman ni Sophie.

"Oo, I guess you're too occupied with you two catching up, that you didn't notice." Sabi niya ng may bitterness ang boses.

"Ahmmm, sige bez kita-kits na lang tayo kapag may time." Sabi ni Sophie, then lumipat na si Sophie sa side ni Riley.

Agad din namang umakbay si Riley sa best friend ko. "Hmmmm, I think we should bond some time Carlos, me, you, Claudia and Sophie, sama na rin natin sina Luis and Chloe para makapag-catch up na rin tayo, ang tagal din natin 'di nagkikita-kita." Suggest ni Riley.

"Ahm, sorry pare pero busy ako eh." Sabi ko naman. Sana wag niyo kong pilitin. Sana, sana.

"What a good idea!" Bigla kaming napalingon sa familiar na boses ni Claudia.

"Claudia!" Sabi ko. Then bigla niya akong binatukan. "Oy! Ang sakit ah?!"

"Loko ka, pinaghanap mo pa ko, andito ka lang pala. Ang sakit-sakit ng paa ko, naikot ko na ata ang buong venue sa kahahanap sayo ng mapadpad ako dito. Teka," sabi niya. "Ba't 'di ko kaagad naisip na nandito ka?" Sabi niya pa. Tinawanan ko na lang siya.

"Never mind that." Sabi ni Claudia. "So ano Carlos, sama tayo sa bonding hmmm?" Tanong niya saakin. Haist! Pina-alala pa! Tumingin tuloy saakin silang lahat.

I glared at Claudia, I think she noticed it that's why she grinned.

Tumingin ako kina Sophie and Riley na naghihintay din ng sagot ko.

"Ah eh . . . Hindi ako pwede eh, busy ko sa work." Palusot ko. Sana bumenta sakanila yun, sana, sana. Pero wala ata talaga sakin ang pabor ng tadhana at biglang sumingit si Claudia.

"Oy! Anong busy? Eh kakatapos mo lang sa mga paper works mo eh. Diba nga sabi ni Tito Richard na pwede ka daw munang mag-bakasyon tutal malaki ang naitulong mo sa company niyo na halos hindi ka na daw natutulog. Masyado kang inspired eh," She's really talkative. Then she whispered, "O baka naman depressed ka dahil masyadong masakit?"

Namutla ako sa sinabi niya, ganun ba ako kahalata? Na to the point na hindi na ako natutulog. But wait, paano nalaman ni Claudia yung mga yun? Hey, don't tell me ia-arranged marriage kami?

"Well saan niyo gusto out of the country or inside of the country?" Asked Riley.

"Outside!" Sabay na sagot ni Claudia at Sophie. Nagkatinginan sila, then napatawa, nag-iba ang mood ng hangin ng dumating si Claudia, I must thank her for that.

"Well what country particularly? Any suggestion?" Sabi ni Riley.

"London!" Sabi nina Sophie, Claudia, and surprisingly Chloe.

She entered the poolside with Luis, holding hands as usual, then walk towards us.

"Kanina pa kayo diyan?" Tanong ko.

"Yup! Since napadaan kami dito. Why not join your conversation?" Said Luis.

'Chismoso. Ha ha ha.'

"Well that settles it! Buti na lang at dumating kayo, we're planning to have a vacation for the sake of the long time we didn't bond. So wanna join?" Claudia asked.

"Oh really? And Carlos, are you coming?" Luis asked me.

I can sense na na-dissapoint sakin si Luis nung time na may chance pa ako kay Sophie. Nevertheless, he still advice over and over, and always there when I need some friend to lean on.

"I, uh," I said, but then Claudia suddenly interrupted me.

"Of course, he'll come! Right?" Sabi ni Claudia, then turned to me and glare.

"Yeah, sort of. . ." Tsk! Kaasar to.

"Well then I'll see you guys by Saturday, be ready na. Everything settled na." Riley said.

'So he really planned this. Well, it can't be helped ,eh? Na-miss ko na yung bonding namin ni Sophie, pero,'

Then, na-realized ko na lang na umalis na sina Sophie, Riley, Claudia and hinatid naman sila ni Chloe. Naiwan kami ni Luis sa may poolside.

"Kamusta naman ang broken hearted na best friend ko?" Sabi ni Luis.

I glared at him. "Do you really need to give me a title like that?" I asked.

"Sorry, sorry, halata naman kasing nagseselos ka kay Riley. Nevertheless, I won't admit that I still care for you, because this the decision you've made and there's no turning back. This is the decision you thought was for the best, in short the decision that made you suffer from too much pain." Luis said. And I knew he was right.

"Yeah, I can't say now, the line 'This is for the best' now that I'm feeling the consequences, but then thank you for advising me." I answered.

"Never mind that. Well, are you going?" He asked, and I immediately understand what he meant.

"Going to where?" I asked, while staring at the pool.

"Don't act dumb! To London with us, of course!" He said with slightly annoyance in his voice.

I just chuckled and told him I don't know. He just nodded then told me to think over it again. Then as he leave, he tapped me at my shoulder.

After a while, I heard a familiar voice that made me stiff.

"So siya pala yung mahal mo." Sabi niya.
