Natalia's POV:

"Wait. So you're saying that Jason invited all of us to a Halloween party?" I asked Nicky. She nodded. She had got me to come to school early today. She said she had something important to ask me.

"Why do all of us have to go? He's dating you. You should be the one who should go." I said to her. Apparently Jason had invited her and all of us to his Halloween party. I wasn't going. There was no fucking way.

"Come on Natalia. Please. He invited all of us. And why would I go without you guys?" She looked at me pleadingly. I looked at the rest of my friends for help.

"She won't take no for an answer. We've tried getting out of it." Said Alyssa raising her hand in surrender. Are you fucking serious? As much as I wanted to stay away from Ryder and his friends, the more I have to interact with them.

"Come on Natalia. I promise it'll be fun." She said trying to convince me. "And I'll make sure Ryder doesn't talk to you. Now, do you agree? Please do this for me." She tried pulling off the puppy eyes to try to convince me. Nope, it wasn't working.

"Yeah, Natalia. We'll kill Ryder on the spot if we see him near you." Riley said. What the hell? Now all of them were trying to convince me. I didn't need their help in trying to avoid Ryder. I just rolled my eyes at them.

"Come on Natalia. It's just a party anyway. What could go wrong?" Said Andre. "Anyway, I still haven't been to a party since I've gotten here." He said. What the hell is wrong with all of them? But he did have a point. What could go wrong? 'A lot of things.' I let out a sigh. They won't give up anytime soon.

"We're not wearing costumes then," I said to Nicky. As soon as I said that, her eyes lit up.

"Thank you, Natalia! I promise you won't regret going" she said.
Let's hope I don't.

"So you're a hundred percent sure you don't want to wear a costume?" Nicky asked me. I thought I had made myself clear.

"There is no fucking way I am going to wear a fucking costume," I said glaring at her. She got me to go to the party but she won't get into a costume.

"Okay okay." She said.

It was recess and we were sitting at our usual table. Ryder and his friends were sitting at the table opposite us. I looked up and saw Ryder looking at me. We made eye contact for a brief second looked away.

*Flashback*

"Hi my name's Ryder." The boy had said to me. He held out his hand for me to shake. I shook his hand hesitantly.

"My name is Natalia." I said shyly. I was ashamed of my different accent. He smiled at me. His smile was nice.

"Natalia I like that name. It's different." He said to me. He was the first boy who didn't make fun of me. Not for my accent and not for my name. He had dark brown eyes and hair just like me.

"Earth to Natalia." Said Nicole waving her hand in front of my face.

"Huh... what?" I asked her pulling out of my thoughts. Why did I just remember that?
