Toothache

Louis' point of view

I couldn't sleep. Simple as that. I had been trying for hours but nothing I tried was working. I did know the problem however and that problem was not something I was happy about since it was currently the early hours of Sunday morning. My tooth had been bothering me before we went to bed but I decided to say nothing and hope it went away, but how wrong was I. The pain had tripled in amount and with it being Sunday that meant there were no dentists around.

I must have accidentally kicked Liam as I was tossing and turning as he soon groaned and I could picture him out to be rubbing his eyes.

"Lou, why are you awake?" He asked sleepily and I just whimpered curling into his side actually kind of glad he had woken up.

"Hey what's wrong?" He asked and when I didn't respond I felt him reach for something and then light flooded the room.

"You could have warned me." I whined burying my face further into Liam.

"Sorry love, now come on what's wrong your normally dead to the world all night long once you've fallen asleep." He said and I sighed.

"Well I haven't fallen asleep yet."

"What. It's 3 in the morning we've been in bed now for 4 hours." Liam said and when he said that it made all this seem even more ridiculous. 4 hours of tossing and turning, that alone should be enough to tire me out and send me to sleep.

"I know, and trust me I've tried falling asleep." I said sitting up against my pillow.

"Well do you know why you can't sleep?"

"Yeah I've got really bad toothache." I said and Liam nodded.

"Not the best day of the week to get that." Liam said coming to the same conclusion I had about there being no dentists on a Sunday.

"I've already figured that out." I whined.

"Well have you tried taking pain meds?" He asked and I shook my head.

"It will hurt to much to open my mouth wide enough." I stated and this time Liam sighed.

"Surely It will be better to have more pain for a little while and then it completely calm down. Then your probably be able to sleep." He said.

"Whenever I had toothache as a kid pain meds never worked." I stated.

"Well they may now you're older. Anyway I haven't got any more suggestions and since you currently have over a 24 hour wait before you can see a dentist I think it would be better if we at least tried." He said and I sighed but knew he was right.

He then got up after kissing my forehead and I saw him leave the room before he returned a couple of minutes later with a glass of water and a pack of paracetamol.

"Here" He said handing me the glass of water and then popping 2 paracetamols out of their packaging. I begrudgingly opened my mouth although the pain brought tears to my eyes before I could get the tablets in my mouth.

"Aw Lou, does it hurt that much?" Liam asked and I nodded snuggling into his side.

"Come on you need to take these, It will be 5 seconds max." He reassured and I sighed taking a big breath to brace myself for the pain and opened my mouth again. This time managing to get the tablets in but I couldn't open my mouth wide enough to allow myself to drink.

"I can't swallow them." I mumbled and Liam chuckled earning a glare from me.

"Just open your mouth a tiny bit wider and then your be able to sip the water." He said.
