Alan's POV

"Umm nice to meet you?" I said as I stared between Mrs. Adams and her daughter. I knew where this was going and I really just wanted to crawl in a hole and never come out.
"It's nice to meet you too Alan! I have to say you look very handsome." Megan said as a slight blush crossed her perfectly foundation covered cheeks.
"Now, we've got a lovely setup outside. Let's get going kids." Mrs. Adams said and started to lead us all towards the back entrance of the building.

Mrs. Adams held the door opened for Megan but it quickly shut and both her and my father were standing in front of me with stern faces.
"Alan as part of your treatment your father and I decided that you having a female companion would do you some good. You'll get to know each other and hopefully you'll form some kind of feeling for her. She's aware of your situation and very nicely agreed to help out." Mrs. Adams explained.
"Don't you dare try to blow this Alan." My Dad warned. "This is going to help you. Just go with it."

"You actually cannot expect me to go out there and pretend to be interested in her!" I told them both.
"We most certainly do." Mrs. Adams said with a smug look on her face that only pissed me off more.
"How many times do I have to say it! I like dick!" I basically screamed. Mrs. Adams stared at me appalled. My Dad grabbed me by the front of my shirt and shoved me into the closet wall. I was startled and, to be honest, scared by the anger his eyes held.
"You will do as we say and you will go out there and make that girl like you. Do you understand?" He ask in a deathly calm voice.
"Y-yes sir." I stuttered out and he released his hold on me.
"Good. Now go." He pointed to the door and I waisted no time in walking outside to find Megan.

She was sitting at a picnic table with a wicker basket sitting beside her. I sat down on the opposite side of her and fiddled with my fingers under the table.
"Soo Alan right?" She asked.
"Yea that's me."
"How old are you?" She said and sat her elbows on the table.
"Seventeen."
"That's great! In seventeen too, well I turn eighteen next month. Do you turn eighteen this year?"
"No i just turned seventeen this year."
"Ohh that makes me older! Ha!" She laughed and then quickly moved to sit beside of me.

"So tell me about yourself?" She scooted until there wasn't an inch of space between us.
"There not much to tell. I like to play guitar and read and well I'm gay." I told her and she laughed. She sneakily moved her hand until it was resting on my thigh. I tried to scoot over more but i was already on the edge.

"That's nonsense. Plus I know everything about you. I only agreed to do this because you're really cute."
"What is it about you people that makes you not able to understand? I can't just change it!" I said getting angrier with her.
"Yes you can silly." She said and bopped me on the nose. "I'll show you." She squeezed my thigh and I felt chills run up my spine, not the good kind either.

"I'd rather you didn't." I moved her hand off of my thigh and started to get up from the table. I didn't care if my Dad or Mrs. Adams got mad at me I wasn't going to sit here and be a part of this.
"Oh I don't think so." Megan said and grabbed me by the wrist, digging her nails in, and pulled me back to my seat. She was surprisingly strong for her small frame. I was shocked by it. "You're going to sit here and enjoy this lovely picnic my grandmother made and we're gonna talk and hold hands. Remember if you don't I can always tell my grandmother and your life will be a living hell." She said with a sickly sweet smile. She laced her fingers with mine and I just sat there frozen, waiting for whatever would happen next.

Austin's POV

Once I had finished at my house this morning I had gotten a call from Mrs. Adams and she wanted me to come help her organize some files or something, but instead here I was watching as Alan got chewed out over something.

I watched from the corner as Alan's Dad shoved him into the wall. His Dad had a menacing glare and Alan looked scared. My hands involuntary curled into a fist and I had to stop myself from going over there. I had no clue what I would have done if I did walk over there, all I knew was that I didn't want Alan to have that scared look on his face.

Alan nodded his head and then he was led outside where a girl was sitting. She hopped up and I saw them being introduced before his Dad and Mrs. Adams were leaving. I watched on as Alan tried to leave but the girl gripped his wrist, not letting him go. He was forced in his seat and then the girl held Alan's hand.

When she took his hand I couldn't help the tiniest bit of jealousy that swirled up through my stomach. I told myself that it was just anger because she had forced him back but deep deep deep down I knew that wasn't true.

I watched as Alan seemed to grow more and more uncomfortable as the girl practically sprawled herself across him. She kept touching his arm and stroking his cheek, before I knew it I was walking out the exit and calling Alan's name.

"Alan!" He turned towards me quickly and a look of relief flooded his face. "Can I speak to you a minute?" I said once I got close enough so I wouldn't have to yell.
"He's busy at the moment." The girl said in a airy voice, but she also grabbed his wrist again.
"Let me rephrase that, I need to speak to Alan now. You can wait." She gave a breathless laugh.
"No I don't think so. We're enjoying our date and you're just trying to ruin it. Now I'll kindly ask you to leave once more."
"Listen I'm his group counselor and I need to speak with him. Now." I gave her a hardened look and she huffed.
"Whatever. Hurry back Alan." She planted a kiss on his cheek, causing Alan to flinch back and the lipstick to leave a slightly smudged imprint of her full lips.

She let go of his wrist and I quickly grabbed it and pulled him behind me. Once I got us back in the building I led us around the corner and then turned to face Alan. He looked shocked and just a little bit scared. He glanced down at my hand that still held his wrist and I quickly let go.
"Are you okay? What was that all about?" I motioned towards the way we had came.

He sighed and leant back against the wall.
"My Dad and Mrs. Adams apparently set me up with a date. That girl is her granddaughter."
"You're kidding me, right?"
"Unfortunately not."
"That's dum-" I started but quickly stopped myself. This is wrong, in a way, no one should be forced on a date with someone. Then again if Alan hung around some girls maybe he would feel attracted to one. "Well I see their point of view I guess." Alan's face fell. "But they still should have gave you some kind of warning."
"Yea..." he trailed off and wrapped his arms around himself.

"Is there anyway you can get me out of this?" He asked in a quiet voice.
"It's not gonna hurt Alan, y-"
"I know it wouldn't hurt Austin! It's just that I'm uncomfortable okay! She kept on touching me."
"Touching you?"
"Yea like putting her hand on my shoulder, holding my hand, placing my hand on her thigh."
"And those things bother you?" I questioned.
"No normally they wouldn't but I guess since they want me to have some sort of attraction to her it does. I'm not attracted to girls! Shit like that makes me uncomfortable. I want to throw up."

He gripped some of his hair and started taking deep breaths.
"Alan calm down." I said.
"You don't get it Austin. Imagine if you were in my position."
"Well honestly if I was in your position I wouldn't push away her advances." I shrugged my shoulders.
"You're an idiot!" He yelled. "I'm leaving."
"Alan wait."
"No Austin! You're not being any help. I know you're supposed to cure my 'disease' but don't just fucking throw me in the lions den." He spat. "You're my counselor right? You're supposed to gently ease me into things. Slowly change my mindset right? Not force me into something."
"Alan I didn't do this."
"You might as well have! You want me to endure it!" I sighed and looked at his disgruntled image.
"Come on." I told him and he looked at me confused.
"What?"
"I said come on. We're getting out of here."
