And I just want to take a nap.
Also probably just one more chapter left.
Alan's POV
"Mr. Ashby I'm going to have to contact your parents." I looked up at the officer and shook my head.
"No. You can't do that."
"And why not?" He said with an eye roll.
"I've already tried talking to them. They don't believe me." My arms once again wrapped themselves around my torso and I was hugging myself tightly. I looked beside of me at Austin for some sense of comfort and he sent a small smile my way.
"Listen," Austin started before he gave me a nervous look. "Alan's parents aren't the most accepting people. He tried to tell them but that only led to his father getting physical with him. His parents aren't going to be any help in this situation." The officer looked between the two of us before he got up and walked to the door.
"I'll be back in a moment."
It felt like forever that the officer was gone, but I occupied my time by reaching out and holding Austin's hand tightly. Neither of us spoke a word. We just waited for him to come back and tell us. I was hoping we would at least be able to take her up on some charges but so far none of that had been mentioned. The officers didn't seem interested at all. They seemed bothered and annoyed.
"Mr. Ashby?" I heard as the door opened and the same officer as before walked in.
"Yes?"
"I spoke with your parents,"
"I thought we said that was a bad idea!" Austin sighed.
"I spoke with your parents," the officer said once again before he gave me an unamused look. "And I want to know if this is something you are serious about going through with. Do you really want to press charges? Cause let me tell you it doesn't look so good." I gave him a confused look.
"Continue?"
"There's not really any valid evidence. Yes you have those hickeys and scratch marks down your back but you were drunk."
"I was drugged!"
"You still had alcohol in your system Mr. Ashby. Besides how do you know it was this girl that drugged you?"
I shot a glare his way and gripped the arms of my chair. "I know because she admitted it and she was the only one that gave me a drink that night."
"Mr. Ashby we still don't have that in recor-"
"We'll we take him and get him drug screened or something! Some traces must still be in his system." Austin told the officer.
"Yes that's a possibility but you boys aren't listening to me."
"What more is there to listen to? You're spewing a bunch of bullshit. That's all you're doing. " Austin said starting to get angry.
"Watch your tone or you are out of here." The officer threatened. "Now I'm trying to say that this won't hold up in court. You have no proof she raped you. You had alcohol in your system, so the likelihood of someone else slipping you the drug is highly possible. You said you don't remember anything correct? Well maybe you were compliant and it was consensual when the act happen-"
"I was still raped! She slipped me something to make me pass out, I would never. I-I'm gay, why would I sleep with a girl!?" I felt tears prick at my eyes and I only prayed that they would stay there until I got out of here.
"That's besides the point, alcohol affects our judgments."
"He was drugged!" Austin almost shouted.
"One more time sir and you're out. There is no evidence that he was drugged. Plus his parents vouch for the girl and she has a spotless record."
"List-"
"No you listen, I'm trying to be nice here kid. There's no way this will hold up in court. Plus do you really wanna be the boy who is accusing a girl of rape?" He didn't even give me time to answer. "I didn't think so. So I just advise you both to leave and kid just stay away from her it can't be that hard."
I started at the officer with my mouth wide open.
"You're kidding?" Austin scoffed.
"I'm giving you my best advice." He said and started collecting the few pieces of paper work from the table.
"No," Austin started shaking his head. "This is not how this is going to go," he stood up and slammed his hands down on the table. "You are going to do something."
"Son I'm afraid there is nothing I can do. Now I'm asking you to leave. If I have to ask one more time you're going to be escorted out."
"Your n-" Austin started to yell but I was quick to grab his hand and stand up.
"Lets just go." I said to him quietly.
"But Alan w-"
"No," I cut him off. "Please lets just go." I pulled him out of the room and quickly left the police station.
I quickly found Austins car in the parking lot and once it was unlocked I was sliding into the seat. Austin got in and a bubble of silence surrounded us. I couldn't believe that that actually happened. She was right no one would believe me. I shook my head and wiped the few tears that started to escape.
"Alan Baby I'm so sorry." I shook my head.
"There's no need to be." I looked up at him and gave him the best smile that I could muster. "Lets just get out of here Austin."
"Where do you want to go?"
"Anywhere lets just leave. This police station. This town. Lets just leave go somewhere where we can be who we want to be without being judged." He stared down at the floor a minute before he looked up at me and nodded.
"Okay."
