It's been a few days since Collins and I last spoke. I knew he would forget about me. It always happens. I hadn't told any of my friends about that last conversation because I already knew what they were gonna say. I wasn't upset or anything, because I've been through this before. Plus, I had no time to be upset. Abby was coming over. We had planned to go out for some much needed retail therapy.
I threw on sweatpants and a t-shirt, as I was in no mood to impress anyone. It was just a lazy day for me. I waited in the living room until Abby finally got there.
"Okay, bye Mom I'll see you later!!" I said as I walked out the door.
"Be careful!"
"We will" we said in unison.
"So..." Abby began. "Would you like to begin explaining why the hell you chose that outfit?"
"What? I was feeling lazy today." I shrugged.
"No makeup either? And what's up with that hair?"
"I told you, lazy day. Emphasis on lazy"
"Wait, lazy, or sad? Because I know the difference."
"What do you mean?"
"When you're 'lazy' you still take pride in the way you look. When you're sad, you just don't even bother. So, what's going on?"
"Nothing"
"Em, we both know I've known you for way too long. And I can tell when you're not okay."
"Seriously, don't worry about it. It's stupid anyway."
"Ahhhhh so you are upset"
"Can you not?"
"Fine. So, where do you wanna stop first?"
"I don't know. I was hoping we could just hang out at the mall."
"Which one?"
"I don't know, pick one."
Our conversation was interrupted when her phone buzzed. "Who's that?" I asked.
"Don't worry about it. Let's just say that I know where we're going now."
"Okay?"
What did she mean by that? And where was she taking me? I have a bad feeling about this.
