I can't believe he didn't recognize me. Yet, at the same time, I do. I bet dozens of people stop him in the street every day, asking for pictures and not embarrassing themselves like I just did. I actually fell and landed on Collins Key. I'd rather I ran into a pole if I had the choice. I've never been so mortified.
On my way back home I kept taking out my phone and putting it back in my pocket, debating whether or not I should tell him what just happened. If I went through with Abby's advice he knows how much of an idiot I am. If I keep to myself, my dignity stays in tack. But what if Abby's right, and he does feel that way? I don't want to risk it. I wish none of this ever happened. I liked it better when I was invisible, just another fan. I decided to just let it go, and make an effort to go back to my normal life. Unfortunately, that will never happen. Within an hour, the picture I took with Collins was all over my Twitter TL with captions like:
"Have you seen her?"
"Help Collins find her."
"Does anyone know who she is?"
Some even included my name. I wanted to hide under a rock.
When I got home I went straight to my room to lay down. I needed to wind down after what had just happened. I was just about to fall asleep when I got a DM.
C: Hey, sorry I was gonna reply earlier but I was on a plane.
Is this seriously happening? I thought he forgot about me. I replied, fearing the direction where this conversation might be going.
E: hey so I hear you're in NY
C: yeah aren't you from NY? I would love to meet you
E: yeah, about that....i'm not really allowed out much
I lied in an effort to cover up the fact that we already met.
C: quick change of subject... do you know who this is?
He attached the photo from earlier.
E: Yeah, I know her.
C: you do? is she a friend of yours?
E: i wouldn't say we're friends...
C: sisters?
E: we're closer than you think......
C: i don't understand...
E: let's just say I've seen her around a lot.
C: huh?
E: so how'd you meet her?
C: she kinda tripped and i caught her. she said that I saved her life.... XD
E: ahhhh i see..
C: but you said you know her...how?
E: i see her every day
C: you go to school together?
E: i hope you realize, you sound like a stalker right now
C: sorry I just need to know who she is....
E: why?
C: there's something about her.. i feel like i know her...
E: okay?
C: do you at least know her name?
E: yeah, me
C: that's her name?
E: NO DUMMY that's me.....
C: what? why didn't you tell me...
E: I was scared...and i was a little embarrassed. i mean, i did pretty much land on top of you
C: it's okay, just happy you survived.
E: yeah me too
C: lucky I was there to save you, it would not have ended well ;)
