The weekend flew by. Surprisingly. Monday did the same. And like always my friends took notice to my sudden change in mood. And of course, used lunch time to question my every move.
"Sooooo." Britney began.
"Whaaaaaaat?" I said, mimicking her tone.
"You know what." Abby said.
"No I don't."
"Yeah, you do." Gina snapped.
"If you wanna know about Friday, all you gotta do is ask." I laughed.
"Okay." said Abby. "So, what happened on Friday?"
"We spoke that's it."
"I know there's more." Gina said.
"I met his brother."
"Is he cute?" Britney asked.
"I'm gonna let you answer that for yourself."
"I'm gonna take that as a yes."
"Anyway" Abby interrupted. "What else happened?"
"I may or may not have introduced myself as his ummm...."
"His what?" Gina asked.
"Significant other?" I said.
"You mean his girlfriend." Abby said.
I just nodded in response.
"Oh. My. God. The girl finallly has some sense." she squealed. "So, what did Magic Boy say about that?"
"He didn't mind. Surprisingly."
"That shouldn't be a surprise."
"What do you mean?"
"You two have been at this for months now. It's about time."
"Okay. Okay. I get it."
"So how long did you guys talk for?" Gina asked.
"About an hour......I think."
"You think?"
"I wasn't paying attention to the time. And he had things to do."
"What kind of things?"
"I'm assuming he went out with some friends."
"Did you meet them too?" Britney asked.
"No."
"Do they know about you?"
"I don't know."
"Does anyone know about you guys?"
"Other than you guys, Devan, and I think, his dad, no. At least I hope not."
"Why not?" Gina cut in.
"Gina, hundreds of thousands of people know who he is. Most of those people are teenaged girls, like you and me. Some of them, not all, are very vicious. I'm not ready for that. I've seen what could happen. Remember when Jelena first went public? That was insane. And their both famous. Now imagine me, not at all used to the spotlight because I've never been in it, in that situation."
"You worry too much." she said.
"She has a point." Abby said.
"Thank you."
"If they go about this the wrong way, things can spiral out of control." Abby explained.
"Exactly which is why we're taking this one step at a time. We agreed to keep this to ourselves until we're both okay with the world knowing. "
We changed the subject after a while. But the conversation quickly took a turn back to my personal life when Abby's phone decided to buzz.
"Ummm....Em? You may have to go public sooner than you think."
"What do you mean?"
"I'd rather not say."
"You got my attention. Might as well just spit it out."
"I really shouldn't say it aloud."
"Then show me." I said, reaching for her phone.
"No." she pulled away.
Soon I was chasing her around the room.
"Just give me the damn phone." I managed to pry it from her hands. "Oh. My. God."
