Before I new it, Friday had arrived. I was in a complete panic. I was starting to second guess myself. Maybe the Skype thing was a stupid idea after all. I kept thinking that maybe it wouldn't be enough. I called Abby for moral support.

"Hey Em, what's up?" she answered.

"Do you think it's a stupid idea?"

"What's a stupid idea?"

"The skype call."

"No. I think it's sweet."

"But it's not good enough."

"Not good enough?"

"I don't know. Something just doesn't seem right."

"Is someone scared?"

"A little."

"Awww don't worry about it. You'll be fine. And trust me, you're gonna make his day."

"Yeah but-"

"Just shutup and make the damn call."

"What time is it?"

"Don't you have a clock?"

"Can you not?"

"Okay, okay, it's a quarter to nine."

"Should I do it now?"

"It's up to you."

"I want to. But, timezones."

"Try it now, and if that doesn't work, try again later. Now, I gotta go because American Horror Story."

"Binge time?"

"Binge time."

"Fine. Don't spoil it."

"I won't. Tell me how it goes."

"Okay. Bye."

"Later."

Immediately after, I turned on my laptop. For some reason I thought I would just send him a text and forget about the whole thing. But then again, Abby would kill me and give another one of her speeches. I decided to suck it up and make the call.

I was still in panic mode. I almost cancelled the call when he answered.

"Hey. Wasn't expecting to hear from you." There was noise and people in the background.

"I thought I'd surprise you. Say Happy Birthday."

"Thanks, it means a lot."

"Should I let you go? You seem busy."

"Nah, they can wait."

"You sure?"

"Yeah, don't worry about it." he winked.

"So, how has your day been so far?"

"It was alright."

"Alright? It's your freaking birthday."

"Yeah, and that's great. You just made it better."

"Aww. Glad I can help."

"Dude, what are you doing? We gotta go." A guy walked up behind him.

He signaled for me to wait. "Go upstairs, play a game or something. I'm kinda busy here."

"Doing what?"

"Are you sure we can't just pick this up later?" I cut in.

"No, stay."

"Who is this?" the kid asked.

"His girlfriend." I replied. "And you must be Devan."

They both stared in disbelief.

"Yeah, right." he laughed.

"Do I look like I'm joking?"

"Well, there's your answer. Now go away." Collins said, trying to push him away.

"Wait, how old are you?" Devan asked.

Collins stepped in. "Dev-"

"It's okay." I laughed. "Sixteen."

"Isn't that illegal?"

"Don't you have somewhere to be?" Collins asked.

"Yeah, so do you. Let's go."

"Seriously, I can go." I said.

"No, don't." He turned to his brother. "Just give me a half hour."

"Fine." He walked off.

"So you met my brother."

"Yeah." I giggled. "He seems cool."

"Are you being sarcastic?"

"No. I'm serious."

"So did you mean it?"

"Mean what?"

"When you said....what you said."

"What did I say?"

"You know what you said."

"No, I don't."

"Just now."

"Oh, that. Only if you agree."

"I thought you said-"

"I know what I said. And I thought about it. And I changed my mind."

"So does this mean what I think it means?"

"Well, what do you think it means?"

"I get a girlfriend for my birthday?"

"I guess you can say that."

"Yessss. Best. Birthday. Ever."

"You're an idiot." I laughed.

"But I'm your idiot."

"This is true."

"And you're mine."
