I Close My Eyes

I Close My Eyes

Maybe I’m too weak to keep this up,

Maybe you’ll leave me cause I wasn’t enough

Maybe I’m too blind to see what going on

Maybe I’m too sick to keep going on

Maybe I’m right, maybe I’m wrong

Pictures scattered everywhere on my floor

Showing many things: hope, love, sadness, anger

Too many pictures, I’ve had enough

The moment is gone, but will forever be kept

Etched in a photo, a time I can never go back to

I don’t want to have to watch how all the people leave

Leaving me behind, on this empty path, I look down

Pretending to laugh, not showing my frown

But deep down, I can say, it’s broken all the way

I push the pause button, everything’s still

Unfortunately, it isn’t paused because I want it to

It’s paused at a time I can never go back to

So I close my eyes while imagining the scars gone,

But you can still see the place cut, there on my arm

I bang against the wall, and close my eyes

I close my eyes and pretend it’ll be all right in the end

Hand me your crutches, ‘cause I can hardly stand

Every new day, I keep trying to live, and yet

Every new day I think about giving up

I’ve had enough of this, getting up every morning

Thinking about every possible way we might end

Maybe I’m too dumb to know what’s going on

So take my hand and tell me again that it’ll be fine

Cover my wrist, maybe then it’ll heal

The scars still remain, but it’ll be okay

As long as you hold my hand, it’ll be okay

inspired by a rap song by Caution! (Caution Ausrufezeichen).  They're a German Rap group from the town I used to live in back in Germany. The dude's awesome, his music has some real depth :)  I love them.  They've an album out, so you should go check out their youtube channel (eltRAPville) or their facebook page (Caution Ausrufezeichen) and give them a listen.  Their song "Als wär alles gut" holds a special meaning for me, due to various reasons, but I won't go into those and bore you.

Thanks for reading, hope you enjoy ^^

Over and out
