Y/n avoided the boys after that day, mostly Mark and Jaemin. She was terribly embarrassed, and seeing both of their faces just made her hot and frustrated. It was unbearable for her to go by them at all.
Though y/n could of been imagining it, every once in a while she would catch Jaemin looking at her, only to look back at the teacher in class.
The thought of him knowing of her crush wanted to make her run home and scream into her pillow. Jisoo could see how bad she had gotten, and the conversations between them were quick, awkward, and uncomfortable.
A week had passed, of this unbelievable torture for y/n. She had been becoming less paranoid, convinced that Jaemin knew nothing of her crush. He didn't act any different than usual when talking to her. Mark on the other hand, was avoided, so she didn't know if he had done anything.
As the bell rang, y/n walked down the stairs of her school by herself. Jisoo was in the class next to her, but her class was let out later than usual, and y/n deemed it too boring to wait for her. She knew Jisoo wouldn't mind, anyway. She stopped at the base of the stairs, before remembering she forgot her math book in the classroom above. Groaning slightly to herself, she started up the stairs in no hurry. If she missed the bus, she could just walk home. She lived close enough.
She turned the corner to grab the book. She could see it in her desk. Before she went into the classroom, hushed voices coming from the other room stopped her. She craned her neck, trying to listen better.
"Yeah, she's not talking to me at all. Is she still mad?"
"I thought she apologized at the gardens."
Y/n realized with a jolt that they were talking about her. Recognizing the male and female voice to be Mark and Jisoo, she turned to look through the window of the classroom next door.
"I didn't see her at all. I was in there alone."
"I saw her run past me. I assumed she apologized and ran home."
The outline of the two figures was dimly lit up by the sunlight coming through the frosted windows. It was hard to hear, the voices muffled.
"Does jaemin know anything?"
Y/n immediately choked on the air, hearing his name. She coughed as silently as she could, but to her dismay, the two voices paused to listen to what was happening outside the classroom.
"Is someone there?"
"Dunno, I'll check."
Panic overtook her for a second, and she dashed into her classroom and took her book. Knowing she had a limited time, she sprinted out the door and into the hall.
"Y/n? Is that you?" She heard Mark call out. She realized he had seen the tips of her hair as she turned the corner, but kept running down the stairs, and through the open doors of the school.
She ran through the empty parking lots, and started home, trying to catch her breath. The busses were long gone by now and she just wanted to get away from the school.
Mulling over what she just witnessed, she didn't see the broad figure walking up to her from behind, the loud footsteps on the pavement.
"Heyyy! Y/n! Wassup?" She could hear a guys voice say. She turned to see Jeno smiling at her, walking with his backpack.
Oh god. Not a good time. Does he really have to be here?
Y/n thought. Jeno was the closest one to Jaemin out of the friend group. He sped up to walk next to y/n.
"I've been wanting to talk to you about something. Something you probably want to hear."
