"Class Dismissed!" The Language Arts teacher said as she dismissed the class. Liza quickly grabbed her things and hurried out of the classroom. She barely knew David, but she knew that the image of him kissing some girl was fresh in her mind. The more she thought about it, the more her heart started to hurt. She told herself it was heartburn and pushed the thought away as she went to her locker and grabbed everything out. As soon as she turned around she bumped right into Dan.
"H-hi," Liza said breathing heavily.
"What the f*ck Liza are you okay?" Dan said putting his hand on her shoulder.
" I have actually never been better," Liza said trying to fix herself quickly. She thought that showing worry or panic emotions were a sign of weakness. That might be the reason she never cried. Well everyone cries sometimes, but Liza barely ever cried. The last she cried was when her father "died".
"Text me, you weirdo," Dan said as he walked away to his friend Phil. Liza smiled watching Dan walk away and started speed walking out the door. The last thing she wanted was to see David. Whenever she saw David, she saw Melanie kissing him. She hated it. But when she got to her car David was leaning on the lamppost right in front of it.
"Hey... Could you give me a ride home... Or to your house or something? My parents aren't home and I have nowhere else to go," David said blushing.
"Sure... You can just hop right in." Liza said pointing to the passenger seat faking a smile.
Good job trying to avoid him Liza... But I couldn't say no to that cute little face! Liza thought to herself as she started smiling.
"So... Are you excited for homecoming?" David asked awkwardly as Liza started driving.
"When's that?" Liza asked interestedly.
"October 21st, so in like four weeks," David said relaxing a little bit more. He felt like he could just be himself with Liza. She just was so... comfortable.
"Well, I have never been to a school dance," Liza said driving and laughing.
"What the f*ck why," David said sitting up.
"No one ever asked me. So I usually stayed at home... And danced to weird music in front of the mirror, wearing elephant socks. Really fuzzy ones too! I-" Liza rambled before realizing it.
"Sorry... You probably don't care," Liza said laughing while blushing.
"First of all, whoever didn't ask you, they were stupid because you are absolutely beautiful and -" David said casually.
"Y-you think I'm beautiful?" Liza said smiling really big as she looked at him blushing slightly.
"Of course I do," David said staring directly at Liza in her eyes. Liza looked at him too. Luckily, the car was parked in front of her house, or she probably would've gotten in a car accident from staring so much. By that point, David had started blushing as well.
"O-okay let's go!" Liza said smiling, still staring at David as she fell out of her car.
"Liza!" David said laughing as he went to another side to help her up.
"Thanks..." Liza said blushing as she grabbed his hand and pulled herself up.
Her hands are so small... it's like they're meant for my hands... David thought as he helped Liza up and smiled.
"Okay. Come on!" Liza said laughing as she grabbed David's wrist and dragged him inside.
"This is my house!" Liza said spinning around inside.
"It's really nice. It's also really big" David said setting his bag down on the couch.
"Take off your shoes trust me," Liza said walking over to him.
"I think you are weird..." David said laughing as he took off his shoes.
"Ha Ha, you see it's just so funny, I am laughing on the inside," Liza said sarcastically smiling as she rolled her eyes. David started laughing as he looked back at her.
"Now what," David said shrugging.
"This!" Liza said grabbing David's hand and running down the hallway.
"Liza!" David said screaming as he held on tight to her hand. They slid across her floor and ended up running into a wall, but they didn't care. They both were too busy laughing.
"That -was -amazing!" Liza said huffing for breath.
"That was so fun... let's do it again!" David said grabbing Liza's hand and pulling her back to the end of the hallway.
"See. I knew you could have fun." Liza said laughing.
"Yeah with you..." David mumbled while rolling his eyes and smiling.
"Huh?" Liza said looking confused.
"Nothing... Let's go!" David said running while holding Liza's hand.
"And... Slide!" Liza said holding on to David's hand and falling over, making him fall as well.
Liza and David sat lying next to each other cracking up. They were so distracted with laughing and having a good time they didn't even notice they were still holding hands.
"Ow..." David said laughing as he held his head.
"Ha Ha!" Liza said laughing as she stared at him.
"This is your fault you know," David said laughing turning on his side.
"You trusted me," Liza said laughing as she still laid on her back.
You are absolutely stunning Liza. David thought in awe. He stared at her smile, her eyes, her hair. Everything about her screamed beautiful.
"Okay fun is over. Time for studying." Liza said laughing as she got up and brushed herself off.
"Nooo!" David said pouting as he laid on the floor.
