Chapter 18

"Today, write about someone. How they make you feel. What about them makes you feel." The language arts teacher projected sitting on her desk. She smiled as she turned around basically telling the class to get started. Liza looked over at David who was already deep in thought.
Who could I write about... She thought tapping her eraser on the side of her head. She could write about David, though she was very aware of how she felt about him, not to mention she had already written about him once or twice... or a hundred times. There was the other choice of Gabbie but she didn't feel like that was a really good writing topic right now. There could be her mom but... We all know that story. So the only person that was left was Liza's father. She cringed at the thought. But she wrote about him anyway. She wrote specifically about what it was like when he died. What it was like when he was dead and still tried to fix things. It was emotional, but so was Liza so it fit perfectly. She let every word flow on the paper like slurs coming out Dom's mouth on a daily basis. David looked over and took a peek at what she was writing. He expected to see a paragraph about how happy she was or about Texas but saw a completely different line instead.

Oh, how I wish you didn't die on me.

I wonder what Liza is writing about... David thought concerned. His heart started beating a little bit faster to even have the thought that Liza was upset. His chest got really tight, like when you have a bad cold or the flu. It wouldn't be able to untighten without her untwisting it though. He needed her and her ways to come and fix him.

David looked at his paper. A whole bunch of jumbled up words that didn't make sense. A whole bunch of adjectives he felt around his friends.
Gabbie- Annoyed but enlightened
Scotty- Comfortable
Zane- Angry
Toddy- Ugly? (lol just kidding i'm david dobrik)
Corinna- Uncomfortable but content
Dom- Entertained and intelligent
Heath- Fun
Kristen- Positive
Alex- Fun
Liza-
He froze up. What words could describe Liza Koshy. The others were pretty straightforward. Gabbie was annoying, but he liked that. She made him aware. Aware made him less dead inside. Scotty and him related to a lot of things. He was like an older brother. But less mushy.. David hated mushy. Except for Liza of course. Zane made him angry. He couldn't describe an emotion, he just was fake and David didn't know why yet. Toddy didn't make him feel anything. He was just there. He was just someone to laugh with. Corinna was too touchy for his taste. A little overdramatic but she didn't annoy him usually. Dom was just so incredibly stupid it made David feel smart, and he never felt like that. But coming with stupidity comes comedy. He was entertaining. Heath was just fun. He wasn't bored. Kristen was shy. She didn't like being the center of attention but she loved to smile. She was always smiling. Nothing is more contagious than a smile. Then Alex. He could do anything with Alex and he would go along with it.  But then there was Liza. She made him feel things that he couldn't describe. Suddenly an idea popped into his head.
Alive. She makes me feel alive.

"Okay, class. Talk to your neighbor about what is feeling. what makes you feel." The teacher proclaimed as she turned around.
Liza turned to David smiling.
"Pookie!" She said smiling.
"Lizabug." David said running his hands through his hair staring.
Stay cool. He thought to himself.

"So..." Liza said looking around the room awkwardly.
"Yeah..." David said running his hands through his hair again.
Liza pulled out her phone and texted David.
We can't both be awkward ya know. It makes conversation really hard.
David smiled as he pulled out his phone.
Then what are we going to do? David responded smiling.
Kiss? Liza responded back to the text.
David instantly turned hot pink.
What?
I'm kidding Pookie.
David stopped smiling and kept blushing.
Yeah duh... David replied.
"Wait did you actually think - " Liza started saying smirking but then the bell went off.
"Oh sorry couldn't hear you," David said smiling innocently as he got up.
"You are evil," Liza said laughing as she rolled her eyes.
"No, WE are evil. Because we are finding Alex and Gabbie." David said smiling as he grabbed Liza and ran.
"There they are!" Liza screamed smiling but David put his hand over her mouth and pulled her back.

"So... Alex!" Gabbie shouted blushing.
"Hey Gabs," Alex said smiling.
"I have an idea." Gabbie said playing with her fingers.
"What's that..." Alex said smiling.
"You and I date Friday night." Gabbie said grabbing his shirt like she was going to threaten him.
"Definitely..." Alex said smiling while he blushed.
"Good..." Gabbie said blushing as she let go of him.
"I'm going to do it..." Liza whispered.
"No... please don't..." David whispered nervously.
"It's too late," Liza said shaking and smiling.
"Liza Shaila you better not," David whispered but Liza started screaming.
"OH MY GOD IT'S SO CUTE." She screamed running out into the hallway where Gabbie and Alex were.
"Liza!" David said disappointedly as he walked out behind her.
"Wow, both of you?" Gabbie said smirking.
"Listen I can explain... It's Galex. That's my final answer." Liza said smiling nudging David and he started nodding.
"Are you the one that started that fan-page?" Alex responded confused.
"Um..." Liza said awkwardly playing with her hands.
"Anyways you guys are finally going out on a date," David said smiling distracting from Liza.
"That makes one of us.." Gabbie mumbled while Alex laughed.
"What?" Liza said glaring.
"Nothing!" Gabbie said innocently while nudging Alex who was still laughing.
"-Oh yeah nothing..." Alex said clearing his throat.
"You should ask Liza out too...." Gabbie coughed next to David as he rolled his eyes.
"Listen... I've got to go home and finish writing something. I'll text you." Liza said smiling while pointing at Gabbie as she turned around. Gabbie and Alex pushed David towards Liza as he rolled his eyes.
"Liza wait..." He shouted blushing.
"David?" Liza said smiling as she turned around.
"Would you like to maybe ... I don't know.." David said blushing.
"What the f*ck is wrong with him!" Alex whispered confused to Gabbie.
"Oh, honey this is David 2.0! He has actual feelings..." Gabbie said smiling as she stared at David act like a fool.
"Mhm..." Liza said smiling as she moved closer to him.
I think there are actual butterflies in my stomach. David thought to himself as he blushed.
"Go out! With me?" David asked blushing.
"Like on a date?" Liza said smiling.
"Uh- no of course not..." David said blushing while fake rolling his eyes and hitting her in the arm.
"Oh, you've got to be kidding me." Gabbie whispered face-palming herself.
"Oh.. sorry. Kind of stupid... well I'll see you guys later peace !" Liza said embarrassed as she blushed and ran off.
As soon as she was out of sight David facepalmed himself.
"I'm so f*cking stupid." He said rolling his eyes.
"Yeah! What the h*ll was that!" Gabbie said rolling her eyes.
"I don't know!" David said deflated as he ran his fingers through his hair.
"I have no idea what I'm doing... But I'm not going to give up. Not with her." And that was the last thing he said before he walked off.
