If I was...

(A/N: I wanted to share this piece with my DEF poetry club. Do you think it's good enough?)

If I was all that I wanted to be...

Could I really still call that "person" me?

If I was perfect without rejection...

Would I still be gazing at me reflection?

If I was a bird would I still have the urge to fly away?

To take off somewhere to an unknown place

Where nobody would know who I am or was before

And they wouldn't be able to distinguish my face

If I was a boat would I still want to sail the seven seas?

To be afloat in an ocean where my only friends are shadows

Where I can be myself and no one would see it

And seneray; a stray sunset painted with a soft afterlow

If I was all that I wanted I to be...

Could I really still call that "person" me?

If I was percect without rejection...

Would I still be gazing at my reflection?
