Of course she is their daughter. It just had to be her, of all girls. When she opens the door she seems a little startled then recovers allowing us to pass through into the house.
"Hello." she said in a sweet tone, defiantly not real. Her real voice is mysterious and makes you wonder what she is thinking.
"Hello Beatrice, this is my son, Tobias." My father says in a too sweet voice, it isn't believable, not for me at least. Tris extends her hand towards me and I take it smirking.
"Nice to meet you, Tobias." she says smiling at my real name. I like the sound of it coming out of her mouth, unlike when my father says it and it is filled with hatred, and cruelty.
"Nice to meet you too Beatrice." I say, I am tempted to say Tris, it suits her better, but I don't know how my father would react to that.
"Please, call me Tris." she says her sweet tone faltering a little bit, into a more serious one and she is looking me dead in the eye.
"Okay, so dinner is ready! Why don't we eat?" Mr.Prior says and leads us to the dining room. I sit next to Tris, Caleb across from her, Mrs.Prior beside him, my father in front of her, and Mr.Prior at the end do the table. the parents and Caleb get deep in conversation about some political stuff, probably because my father is Mayor of this stupid town, and better yet he found free time to be the principal of our school.
Anyways, so Tris and I are just sitting there being awkward tacos. Finally she makes some weird faces and I start to make weird faces back. We both laugh and then the table goes quiet. Everyone is staring at us again. My father has a disapproving look on his face. Caleb looks at us like we are mental. And her parents just shake their heads and smile.
"Beatrice, show Tobias around the house, why don't you?" her mom says. Tris and I stand and she gives me a brief tour. We get in her room and she closes the door.
"So, your real name is Tobias?" she asks and I nod my head.
"So, your name is Beatrice?" I say with a smile, yet the name still doesn't suit her.
"What did you think it stood for?" she chuckles and I smirk. Wow her laugh is amazing.
"I don't know," I smile. Suddenly I hear the voice in my nightmares yell from downstairs.
"Tobias! Time to leave!" he says, in his fake voice.
"Bye Tris." I say sad that I have to leave her for that monster. Slowly I start to leave but before I do she grabs my hand and intertwines our fingers and I feel a spark go where her skin touches mine. Reluctantly she lets go and I head down the stairs. I say my good byes and Marcus leaves first and I tell his I will be there in a minute.
"Mr.Prior? May I talk to you?" I say, nervous for the answer to the question I am about to ask.
"Sure. What?" He says in a good fatherly image voice, I see why Tris is how she is.
"Um... Can I um... Ask you daughter out on a date?" I ask really nervous now.
"I like you, respecting the fathers decisions first! Sure, you can ask my little girl out on a date, but break her heart and I break your face." He says getting serious towards the end.
"I won't sir, I promise, if you'll excuse me, I have to go, my father is waiting." I say walking out the door.
Wow that went way better than expected.
Now for the hard part, actually asking her out.
