I woke up from a restless sleep and groaned. I was not feeling up to going to school and confronting Tobias about his family life. I didn't want him to leave. I needed him. But he needed family. Maybe it would just be temporarily. Maybe he would stay with them all Senior year. These thoughts swarmed my mind all morning as I was getting ready.
What if he went with to his mom's and found a better, prettier girl there?
No. Tris you have to stop thinking like that. I told myself.
I looked in the mirror to see what I had put on when I was deep in thought.
I was wearing all black. Oh. My emotions are showing. I had a black high waisted skirt, a black three quarter sleeved shirt, my black vans, and a black bow in my straightened hair. I looked a bit...emo. Which I guess I was a little.
Maybe I am reading the signs all wrong. Maybe he doesn't miss his family. Maybe he will stay with me.
I walk out of my room and bump into Tobias.
"Hey Tri- Are you okay?" he asks taking in my full appearance.
"Yeah, why?"
"You seem... a little darker than usual."
"Well I'm not. I love you." I said kissing his lips gently. He smiled. He kissed me back.
"Can we just get Starbucks this morning?" I asked. That would be a good time to discuss with him what I was thinking.
"Sure, just let me grab my jacket." He said going into his room and grabbing his leather jacket. Most people can't pull it off. But he can.
I grab his hand and we walk to the car. I sit in the passenger seat and he drives. We get to Starbucks and go in.
"Name please," the lady said preparing to write it on the cup. I decided that I could have fun with this.
"Tobias. T-o-b-i-a-s." I said when Tobias wasn't paying attention. The last looked at me funny, but wrote it down.
"I'll have a tall java chip frappechino," I said it was like my most favorite drink ever, then I added, "and a chocolate muffin please."
"I'll order for you." I said to Toby and he went and sat down. Alright.
"His name is Tris, T-R-I-S" I got another funny look. Whatever.
"And make that a cookie crumble frappichino." I said which I didn't like but Toby did (talk about common white girl), then paid and sat down waiting for them to call out name.
"Tris and Tobias!" the person shouted and I went and got our drinks and my muffin. I handed Toby the cup with his name on it. He took a sip and frowned.
"Give me 'your' drink." He said rolling his eyes catching on to what I did. I laughed lightly and handed him the cup with my name on it.
"Four," I said and he looked at me eyebrows raised waiting for me to continue.
"I have been thinking a lot. And I think that, if you want to, you should go visit the family you have left." I said gloomily.
"Tris, I do miss my family." He said and sadness swelled inside my chest. "But they left me. They don't care about me. You care about me. You are my family."
I felt tears threaten to pour down my cheeks, tears of happiness. He cared about me and I cared about him. This is how it is supposed to be. I wrapped my arms around him and his arms wrapped around my back.
"I love you so much. I will never leave you." He whispered in my ear and I smiled and buried my face into his chest.
{okay so Wattpad won't let me bold or italicizes right now. So yeah. This is a chapter. A very crappy chapter. But hey. It's a chapter. I will try to do better next time. Oh!
