Chapter 4: Tris

TRIS' POV

We get to the last block of the day, gym, and by now I know that Four has all of the same classes as me, great! Sarcasm included.

"Nice to know, Stiff." Four says from behind me and I give him a questioning look, "I must be rubbing off on you, you thought out loud." he explained and I rolled my eyes and walked into the girls changing room and put on my t-shirt and shorts then walk out, only to run into someone.

"Sor-" I start to apologize then see it is Four, "Never mind." I say smirking. He rolls his eyes and turns to walk to the gym. I see something creeping up his neck. A tattoo? Weird.

Everyone walks to the gym and the gym teacher speaks up, "Today we will be playing dodge ball, Tris and Uriah are captains. Pick your teams!" Coach Amar says and Uriah and I walk up to the front of the room and I pick first and him second. Finally we both have our teams, luckily Four is on the other team, finally a break.

"You're going down, Stiff!" he says and uses that stupid nickname.

"In your dreams, asshole." I mutter under my breath. Apparently he heard me though and gave me a death glare. Which I returned with a sarcastic smile. The whistle blows and we are off.

Four and I are the first to reach the balls and of course he makes the first move to hit me. I dodge it and it hits Nita square in the stomach. She glares at Four the stomps off to the bleachers. I see Four laugh a little at her tantrum.

While he is off guard I chuck the ball at him, but of course he dodges and his attention is back on me.

"Not a terrible throw stiff." he says and catches the ball that comes at him and one of my teammates walks over to the bleachers. To get back I chuck one at Uriah and it hits him on the shoulder. He glares at me then says,

"Avenge my death Four!" then he walks off the gym floor to the bleachers.

Four throws the ball and without thinking I go into the splits and the ball flies where my head once was. Four is just staring at me like I am crazy and I smile.

Then I realize we are the only people left.

"Looks like it is just you and me." he glares an throws the fastest ball I have ever seen, I had to time to move, it hit me square in the nose.

The world went black.
