"How are you feeling?" Dugger asks right whenever I open my eyes.

"Like I was attacked by a demon." I reply.

Dugger had a cold, wet rag on my forehead and he was wrapping my arm up in bandages, which is quite entertaining, may I add, considering that I don't need them. I don't have the heart to tell him that though; he's just trying to help.

"Well, just be glad we stopped her in time." He continues to wrap my wounds. "I actually began to get overly angry and I was starting to transition."

"Why didn't you stop her sooner?" I ask. "You all just sat there like I could handle myself, which I obviously couldn't at that moment. That little perky bitch is strong as hell!"

Dugger stops and looks at me then says, "I like to give them a chance to control themselves. They don't like being told what to do and they don't listen to anyone." He begins doctoring my leg. "Well, except for each other. Once they gang up together, there is really no stopping them."

"It seems to me they need more discipline." I roll my eyes.

"You don't even know them." A deep voice says from the door way. "You just got here, for goodness sake."

In the doorway stood a muscular boy with sharp, royal blue eyes. With slouched posture, he glared at me while hardly even fitting under the door frame because of his extreme height.

"Damien," Dugger says, "leave it."

I had never seen anyone like him before. He was so majestic?

"So, you're Damien?" I blurt out. "I've been wanting to meet you ever since Dugger told me there were others in the house."

He folds his arms across his very, very muscular chest. "Yeah, well the pleasure is all yours."

"Damien, don't be rude." Dugger walks over to him.

Man, I thought Dugger was tall. Damien he - Wow, he is something.

"Just be nice." Dugger commands.

"She's a bitch, Dugger." He shouts. "She's hardly been here for 24 hours, and she's already caused so many issues!"

"You never like the new ones, Damien. Now hop off your high horse, and be welcoming to her!" Dugger shouts back.

With rigid, hard eyes, Damien stares at Dugger as if challenging him. He then glares at me, back at Dugger, then storms off.

"I'm sorry about that, Zinn." Dugger comes and sits back down on the bed and begins wrapping my gashes from Jaley and Mae.

"No, it's cool." I say, too calmly while trying to hide the fact that I didn't think it was "cool". Gosh, Zinn, what the heck are you? A hippie?

"He's just very protective of Jaley." Dugger says. "He's in love with her." he laughs.

Wow, knife to the chest there, Dugger! "Oh really?" is, however, all that comes out of my mouth. "Are they, like, a couple?" I ask as nonchalantly as possible.

"You would think considering how long he's been in love with the poor girl." Dugger chuckles. "But, no. He has asked her out countless of times, she's just not interested."

She is such a freaking idiot. "That stinks."

Dugger looks up at me and laughs, "Yeah? It does stink." Then continues to wrap my leg.

"I wasn't going to say anything because its sweet that you're doing this, but the wrapping my wounds is unnecessary." Dugger looks up at me. "I, um, I'm sort of a werewolf so I'm going to heal supernaturally fast."

Dugger laughs. "Not that this is a laughing matter, but you won't." He continues, "These are scratches from vampires. Therefore, you won't because of their venom that comes from their teeth and "claws". Unlike what your twilight books or whatever say, It's not just werewolves that their venom has effect on, its every other creature on this earth." He stops and thinks for a moment. "Well, except for mermaids. That's only because they contain the same venom as vampires though, so it doesn't affect them."

Great. It's like the devil created them perfectly for each other. It's like the freaking jock and captain of the cheer squad; everyone knows they always end up together in the movies. She's freaking cheering for him as he throws a dumb ball across a field. I have no chance.

"No offense," I say, with much offense intended. "but why is Jaley like that?"

"Like what? A total bitch?"

I laugh, "Um, yeah."

"Everyone has a story, Zinn." Dugger finishes wrapping the last gash on my leg. "I'll give you a summary of theirs." He scoots up farther onto the bed, folds his hands, then continues, "They are the only thing each other has ever had. They didn't grow up with a happy family, they grew up locked in a bathroom by their step mom. Their real mom, who was extremely kind, died whenever they were thirteen. Their father turned to alcohol and drugs and fell apart. He remarried this bitch who treated them as slaves and would beat and lock them in their bathroom if they "misbehaved". Long story short, about two years of putting up with this, Jaley met this pothead who said he could end it all for her and he gave her the bite. She didn't know what all the consequences were, all she knew was she was no longer weak and she was done with the abuse. After a few hours, she rushed home and found Mae knocked out on the floor. She wasn't planning on doing what she did, she just wanted to give Mae the bite as well and they runaway but," Dugger pauses and sighs.

"Dugger, you don't have to tell me anymore of it if you don't want to."

"But I tore that piece of shit apart." Jaley finishes from the doorway. "That bitch thought she could ruin our lives and hit Mae with a freaking empty bottle of vodka. So, I tore her throat out with my teeth, grabbed Mae, and got the hell out of there."

"Then she found me." Dugger says. "I've watched after them ever since."

I sat there in silence. That's insane!

"Anyhow, I didn't come in here to share with you my life story, nor to apologize." Jaley informs us. "I came here to get you, Dugger."

"What for?"

"There's someone here." She vaguely says, "He's asking for Zinn."
