Its Kayden.Well, it looks like Kayden.
It can't be.
He's naked and burned?
"Here you go, sweetheart." A blonde girl says throwing a blanket over him. I assume this is Lymiex because of her snake like eyes.
"Thank you." Kayden wraps himself in it. It sounds like Kayden. It's the same deep, sweet, raspy voice of his.
"Um, Zinn?" Dugger, and everyone else, stares at me.
"Oh," I stutter. "This is Kayden." I say.
Jaley chuckles behind me, "Gosh, wolfie." She mocks. "You don't sound too confident about that."
I ignore her. I don't even grant her the privilege of my acknowledgement to her bratty attitude. I just stare at him.
Kayden.
"I'm her brother." Kayden speaks up.
Jaley's sarcastic chuckles die down behind me.
"No you're not." She says.
Everyone's attention falls on Jaley. Kayden and Jaley's eyes stay fixed on each other. He looks confused, Jaley terrified. I don't know what's going on?
She is the first to break eye contact. "Sorry." She says, looking at the ground. "I was just confused because I swore I saw five bodies at – "Jaley stops mid-sentence and scratches her head. "I was mistaken." She turns around and sits on the couch, Damien following her like a lost puppy.
"Well, I'm glad you found your way here, Kayden." Dugger says, shaking his hand.
Kayden's eyes dilate and he begins to shake.
"Kayden?" I rush over to him. "Kayden, what's wrong?" I ask.
He collapses on me and begins to seize.
"What's happening?" I hear a sweet, little voice shout from behind me; Marah.
With Dugger's help, I gently lie him down on the floor. "It's okay!" I assure everyone. "He's just having a seizure. Just get me a pillow!"
Lymiex hands me a pillow that I place under Kayden's head, then I turn him on his side and wait for him to finish - He does.
"Has that happened before?" Dugger asks.
I shake my head, "Not to him."
"Jaley, talk to me." I hear Damien say from the living room.
"Damien, I told you to leave me alone!"
"Something is the matter and I want to know." He calmly says. "I want to help."
I hear nothing else, other than Jaley stomping to her bedroom and slamming her door.
I ignore the drama going on behind me and focus on the one happening in front of me. Looking at Kayden's limp body, I ask Dugger if we could lie him down his bed. Dugger nods and carries Kayden into his room.
I sit next to Kayden, who is unconscious, and study him. I know that sounds creepy, but something is off about him.
"So," Dugger sits on the edge of the bed. "This is your brother?"
I inhale to stall answering that question. Does he physically look like Kayden? Yes. But is he? I'm not so sure. So, I just nod.
"Well, he's welcomed here, Zinn." Dugger smiles.
