The feeling is overwhelming. The sky, wind, sounds are all peaceful here. This world looks like Earth, but isn't. This place is calming; welcoming. To describe the experience of transportation by portal is impossible. It's like it almost never happened, but obviously did.
Right now, I am currently standing in front of a huge house – a castle, is what Marah and Nalsa are calling it. However, that's too extra for me.
With Jaley limp in my arms, Nalsa leads Marah and I through the giant doors. Inside is a huge room with a giant, green diamond in the middle. About five never-ending halls connect to it. Across the room is a silver staircase that also looks never-ending.
"Nalsa!" A small boy, about Marah's age, wraps his arms around Nalsa's long legs.
"Hi, Ivan." She smiles.
Ivan and Marah lock eyes. "It is very nice to meet you." He bows.
"Why is this boy bowing to me?" Marah asks.
"That's not the Queen, honey." Nalsa laughs. "Why don't you go find your mom and we can talk later?" He nods and disappears at the end of one of the long halls. "I'll explain later." Nalsa says. "I'll show you where you can stay." She turns and begins walking up a tall stair case.
I watch as Marah OH's and AH's over every painting we pass on our way up. My heart is torn. She knows nothing about what is happening. Mae and Damien are dead and we may never see Lymiex and Dugger again. She has no clue. I honestly don't even want her to find out.
"This is only temporary." Nalsa pushes open another giant sized door to an even bigger room. It is painted lavender, two big beds on each side with fluffy, white comforters. The smell of jasmine fills the air as you walk across the grey, wood floors.
"I think you should all get cleaned up, eat something, and maybe rest if you can. I know I need to wash up." She sighs at her blood stained clothes. Marah was distracted by the bowl full of chocolate on the night stand to notice Nalsa. The only time I think her ADD is actually a good thing.
I lay Jaley down on the bed closest to the window. Her head was smudged with blood from where her wound was from me shoving her into a tree. Shoot. I'm going to hear hell about that.
"I'll leave you guys alone."
"Wait." I stop Nalsa. "You'll answer more questions later?"
She nods. "There is a bathroom right through that door. I'll come up in about half an hour to take you to the dining hall for some food." She exits.
Marah sat on the giant windowsill watching everything outside. "I'm pretty sure everything here is alive." She says.
I join her, and she was correct. About any living organism was gathering around outside the mansion. Plants, animals, humans, non-humans, everything!
"Yep. It's strange."
"It's awesome!" She shouts. "You think they're all out there for you, Zinn?"
I shiver at the thought. "I hope not."
"Why? You're they're Queen? That's awesome!"
"Marah," I pick her up off the windowsill. At first, I was going to explain to her what was going on. But then I saw the excitement in her eyes, the innocence. She doesn't need to know. "go take a bath. You smell."
"Okay!" She skips off to the bathroom. "I wonder if the water is pink!"
I'm not sure what to make of all of this. If all of those people are really here for me, they're going to be disappointed. I'm not a Queen. Hell, I hardly know how to do laundry! I just need to focus on Marah right now. Marah is all I need to worry about. Or else, I may drive myself insane with my thoughts. How is Jaley going to react whenever she's awake? – did Damien and Mae go to Heaven or Hell? – is the freaking devil himself after me? – is Lymiex and Dugger alive? – is the real world even still standing?!
"Zinn!" Marah swings open the door wrapped in a purple towel. "They have gummy bears IN THE BATHROOM!" She hops with excitement. "Lymiex wouldn't even let me take juice into our bathroom, BUT GUMMY BEARS!" She giggles. "I can't wait for Lymiex and Dugger to get here, they're going to love it!"
"Yeah." I fake smile. "Go finish your bath, you're getting water everywhere!" She does as I say.
How did this happen? I feel like i'm on some screwed up episode of Teen Mom.
