"Ow. Crap. How the hell did I not see that there? It's a freaking chair. It's literally the size of me. I hate myself sometimes."

I open my eyes to a sideways view of Marah sitting in front of the television watching SpongeBob.

"Hey, Jaley." She says, still staring at the television screen. "Shut up."

"I ran into the chair, Marah. You think I wanted to do that?"

"Use your senses."

"What's that even supposed to mean?"

"You're being loud."

"You're being louder than me!?"

"Be quiet! Zinn is asleep on the couch."

Jaley giggles. "She is?" I quickly shut my eyes and adjust my face to seem like I was still asleep.

"Marah, what should I do to her?"

"Leave her alone."

"Should I draw something on her face?" I hear a pen click.

I quickly reach up and snap Jaley's wrist and snatch the pen out of her hand. "Do it, and this will go in your throat."

Jaley rips her wrist away and glares at me. "It was just a joke."

"What are you doing up anyway?"

"None of your beeswax."

"How old are you?"

"Fine. Mae got up and I was coming out here to find her."

"Mae's not out here." Marah informs us.

"Well, I see that now, smarty."

"Wasn't sure if you did or not since you didn't see the chair."

Jaley rolls her eyes then says, "She must have gone hunting or something."

"Does she usually do that?"

"Do what? Randomly go on hunting trips? No. And definitely not alone, she's a big scaredy cat."

"Do you want me to help you find her?"

"Find her?" She snaps. "She's not lost, wolfie, she just went out."

"Okay." I roll my eyes; she's ridiculous.

"Whoa!" Marah shouts.

"What's wrong, Mar?" Jaley asks.

"SpongeBob..." She stands and backs away from the television. "He's not speaking English?"

"You probably just hit a button on the remote." Jaley snatches the remote out of Marah's hand; the volume begins to turn up.

"Jaley!" I shout, covering my ears.

"I'm not doing that!" She shouts back.

The television goes snowy, then all power shuts off. The whole house was dark. The only light came from the sunrise that peaked through the windows.

"Great job, Jaley. You shut the television off."

"I didn't do that, Marah."

"There must be a storm or something?" I say.
