_

I wake up to see bright lights just above my forehead.

So this means I'm alive, right?

I focus my eyes to look around the room. I see a heart monitor to the right of me, and stand holding a blood bag which is feeding into me through my IV, and I see a small television hooked on the wall playing South Park.

Suddenly I get feeling back in my arms and hands, and I feel something gripping my left hand. I turn my head slowly to see Jordan, fast asleep in a chair beside my bed.

Is he holding my hand?

Stop Kat. Don't get too attached.

I feel him squeeze my hand and open his eyes. He looks up and sees me looking at him.

"Hey kitty, how ya' feeling?"

He just called me Kitty! I look straight into his hazel eyes and take a deep breath.

"Could be better, I guess, considering I almost killed myself. How are you doing Mr. Jordan?"

Did I really just say "Mr. Jordan"? I'm so stupid...

"Well, I was pretty worried about you earlier, but now that you've finally woken up I'm really happy!"

He smiles at me, and I smile back, he squeezes my hand softly then lets go. He gets up and walks across the room to a bag sitting in the corner.

"I hope you don't mind, but I went to your house and grabbed a few extra pairs if clothes for you, and I also brought your laptop!"

I watch him come back across the room and set the bag on my bed. He helps me sit up and opens my bag for me.

"Thanks Jordan, like a lot... Especially for bringing me my laptop! My youtubers will definitely bring my spirits back up!"

Wait.. Should I have said that? A lot of people think I'm a nerd for watching youtubers, so I don't tell them about it.

"Oh, really? Who do you watch?"

"Uhm... I watch Graser10, Hbomb94, TYBZI, Bayani, basically everyone on the cube. They are the ones who saved me after my sister died, ya' know?"

Jordan starts fidgeting in his chair, and leans forward.

"Cool, I've heard of them, but I don't watch them much."

It's clear he is hiding something. The way he said it, you could tell he forced the words to come out. He must think I'm weird...

"Oh. Well, anyway, how long have I been here? And when can I go home?"

Jordan seems to ease up a bit. "The doctor said you can go home at least 6 hours after you wake up, and you've been out for almost 2 days."

"Has Veda been fed? Is she okay?" I ask.

I totally forgot about Veda! How could I?

"I fed her and she has been staying at my place, don't worry Kat, I've taken care of everything!" Jordan says smiling.

He moves his hand towards mine and intertwines his fingers with my hand. I am literally screaming and freaking out on the inside.

The doctor walks in moments later, along with a few nurses.

He says, "Katie, it looks like everything is healing right and you are doing a lot better than when you came in. Promise me you won't try to.. Well... Kill yourself again, okay? You have a long life ahead of you. There are also support groups for these kind of things."

"Okay, then."

I never promised him. I only said okay.

I sleep for the next 6 hours, and Jordan wakes me up and says "Time to go home, kitty."

He helps me out of the bed and gives me some water. He holds my hand with his right hand, and holds my bag with his left.

As we are driving home, he turns down the radio and takes a deep breath.

"Kat, when the nurses changed your clothes, they found a note in your pocket and gave it to me. I didn't know if you wanted me to read it, so I've just kept it in my pocket for you. Do you want it back?"

I hesitate for a moment.

"No, I don't want it back, you can keep it, but don't open it until I say you can, okay? Please."

He pulls up in his driveway and takes the keys out of the ignition.

"Okay. I will. And hey, are you sure you're going to be okay for the night? The doctor said this medicine is going to make you nautious and sleepy. Want to stay at my place for the night so I can watch you? I'm worried about you Kat..."

My stomach flips. "Just for tonight I guess, okay? And thank you Jordan."

He helps me out of the car and into his house, and lies me down in a guest bedroom next to his. He puts my stuff down on the bed.

"If you need anything, just tell me! The doc said you can't take a shower or bath yet for the next 24 hours, but you're welcome to use the hall bathroom and you can have anything in the kitchen. I'll be in my room, and don't hesitate to knock if you need something! Goodnight!"

I walk across the room and plop down on the bed.

"Thanks! And goodnight to you too!" I say smiling like a Japanese school girl.
