CH.11 "if I could"

You woke up, but you noticed you had accidentally slept in and realized you just lost your job being late. You sighed. So much for a well paying job. Your workplace had called you a few times and your boss ended up texting you that you never called in sick and that you're fired. You only texted back, 'I understand, thank you.' and got out of bed. You groggily made your way to your bathroom and did your daily morning routine. After those 32 minutes, you finally brightened up. You don't have a job anymore but you can definitely spend more quality time with BEN, you stopped. Where is that small bean anyways? You heard a small noise coming from the office and peeked through the doorway, seeing BEN at your computer playing dishonored.
Apparently he got frightened because he was running from police and turned around to see one of them taking a swing. You laughed which made him jump and spin in his chair. He quickly turned a bit to pause at the game and stare at you. You walked in the room completely, giving a small smile. "Wanna go out tonight?" you chirped at him, obviously happy. He blinked, looking at you with no emotion on his face. "Let me check my schedule." he pulled out a gaming manual flipping through it. He nodded, putting it down. "Yes." He smiled and turned back to the computer, saving and exiting the game. He went onto the browser and played browser games, you turned to leave but stopped in the doorway, looking over your shoulder. "No formalities tonight." you said and saw him briefly nod, not looking away from the screen. You left and decided to settle down on the couch. Closing your eyes and relaxing. Until you heard a quiet knock on the door, and stood up to get it. BEN shot out of the office and answered the door. You squinted at him and sat back down. It was Lambert at the door and he seemed unfazed by BEN's disfigured appearance. BEN smiled brightly, opening the door widely and gesturing for him to come in. Lambert walked in and gave a small smile to BEN, only for it to disappear. "Good to see you Lambert, my dear friend" BEN laughed, closing the door and leading Lambert away from the living room. This made you confused, how did they know each other and why isn't he scared? More importantly why did he come around in the first place. You'd ask later but now you had other things to do, like see Harper. If Lambert's up here, Harper's down there, maybe you can get to know her better too. Double date tonight perhaps? I mean, you're not dating BEN. But its almost like you are. You smiled. Getting off the couch once more and heading downstairs, to Harper's door. You knocked, but there was no answer. You heard a loud noise coming from the door, followed by a grunt and glass breaking. And a female voice saying, "Just a sec." you shook your head and the door finally opened revealing Harper's living room to be a mess. She smiled nervously. "Someone broke in last night" you nodded and she walked out, closing the door. She didn't want you to come in because it was a mess and yikes. "Hey, so I wanted to know if you wanted to hang out to get to know each other better and whatnot" You smiled happily, and her face lightened as she smiled back. "Sure thing, I don't have anything else to do. Since Lambert is hanging out with BEN and Carlos is 'investigating' the woods" she shook her head. You raised an eyebrow at it the mention of BEN. "You know BEN?" you asked her curiously, she nodded and started to leave the apartment as you followed. "Yeah, I've known him for awhile." she shrugged, you looked at her curiously. She noticed, and continued. "We have the same occupation along with um, Carlos and Lambert." she looked down. "What do you guys do?" you looked at her, you wanted to know because you honestly didn't know BEN had a job. BEN couldn't get a job, no way José. She looked back up, looking reluctant. "I'm not allowed to say. Its no good is all I got." You nodded, deciding to stop there.
