The next morning I walked upstairs to find that it was already noon. Cailey was the only one there.

"Where is everyone?" I asked as she handed me some coffee. I didn't like coffee, but I drank it anyway.

"Ben and Aaron are building that fence you guys got lumber for, Elizabeth and Zach are looking into the file looking for the word "Sleepwalker", and Emilie is out on the back porch." she said going through Zach's new stuff. He had left it on the counter before he went to bed the night before. Cailey had been extremely nice to us all, despite not getting to leave the house with us when we went out to scavenge.

"Cailey, what would we do without you?" I said smiling. She smiled back.

"Probably something dumb" she said laughing. She was right. I finished my coffee and went outside to see what Emilie was doing. She was out on the back porch with her knife. She had one of my sister's dresses on. It was orange with yellow flowers on it. She looked like an angel. An angel with a knife. An angel with a rather large knife. She noticed my stare and looked at me.

"Enjoying the view?" She asked me.

"No.. I mean Yes.. I was just.." I started but was interrupted by her laughter.

"I'm just playing." she said smiling. I could feel I was blushing. I looked at her knife. It was about 8 inches long and had a bronze handle. It was completely clean and looked brand new.

"That's a nice knife you got there." I said nodding toward the knife.

"It was my Dad's" She said holding it up. "I'm better with this then any gun." she said carefully grabbing the blade with her thumb and index finger.

"Oh really?" I asked smiling. Then with just a flick of her wrist, she sent the knife flying through the air, past my face, and lodging it into the pillar, a foot from my head.

"Really" She repeated standing up to retrieve her knife. I was in awe. Then she came really close to me. Her face inches from mine. Her eyes didn't leave mine as she pulled her knife from the pillar. Then she turned and walked back into the house. Still standing there, I realized I had been holding my breath. I filled my lungs with air, then sighed. I looked out off the porch to see an amazing wall. The wall went almost all the way around the house. I followed the wall until I found Ben and Aaron hard at work.

"Lookin' good, boys!!" I called. The wall was going to completely surround the house Except for a Gate for the van. The wall was about 8 feet tall.

"We had to go back a few more times, but We'll be done in a little while, with wood to spare." Ben called back. Aaron just smiled and waved. I went back into the house and up the stairs. I knocked on Zach's door and I heard Elizabeth say to come in. Zach was sitting at his desk typing on my old computer. Elizabeth watched him from over his shoulder.

"What you doin', Zach?" I asked as I entered the room.

"I'm putting all the information from the files onto this computer so we can find information easier. We're still looking for "Sleepwalkers" in all the papers." He said typing away at the computer. I couldn't keep up with all the stuff he was typing so I left the room. I went back down and sat with Cailey in the living room.

"How's the wall coming?" She asked me.

"It looks amazing, so far. They're doing a great job." I replied. Cailey took one of my mother's old magazines off the coffee table. She flipped through the pages and stopped on a page that had a picture of a little girl, standing in front of a school.

"Do you think everyone at school is okay?" Cailey asked.

"I think so. If what Zach told us is true, then they're just sleeping, like the rest of the world." I said to her. Emilie entered the room and sat down on the other side of Cailey.

"I really like that dress on you, Emilie." Cailey complimented her.

"Thanks. Where were you guys when they started attacking, back at school?" She asked us.

"We went to the basement, like Mr. Allison told us to. Where were you?" I asked.

"Me and some other people were too far from the stairs that led to the basement, so we hid in one of the classrooms. We sat there until a guy came in and sprayed this gas at us. I fainted and woke up a few hours later." She explained.

"Did you see anyone else, when you woke up?" Cailey asked. Emilie shook her head.

"I was alone. Everyone was laying around the room below me. I was scared, so I decided to try to go home. I left the school and walked along the road for a few hours." She told us.

"Did you ever make it home?" Cailey questioned. Again she shook her head.

"It got dark so I stopped and camped in the woods, right off the side of the road. I fell asleep and didn't wake up until like 10:00 the next morning." She answered. Her cheek still was slightly purple where she got hit. She pushed her hair out of her face and continued."I walked for a few more hours until I heard a truck coming down the road. I ran and hid in this construction site. Then you guys came and he tried to take you. That's when I got knocked out."

"If you hadn't been there we would of been shot. Thank you." I said to her. She smiled and stood up. After she left the room, I shut my eyes and fell asleep on the couch next to Cailey. Then once again, everything was peaceful.
