I approached Aaron, who was trying to carry his prize into the house by himself. The box was 5 inches tall and about 3 feet long.
"What do you think is in it?" I asked Aaron grabbing one side of the box. He shrugged and kept walking. We set the box down on the table in the kitchen and everyone gathered around it. Aaron slowly opened the box to reveal a long, black rod. A staff. He picked it up and held it in his hands. He smiled and then twirled it in his fingers. He seemed to know how to use it at first, until he dropped it on the floor. When the staff hit the floor, The ends unfolded two sharp knives on each side.
"Woah!! Guys, look at this!!" Aaron yelled picking it up off the ground. We all had the same thought in our minds. Aaron was going to hurt somebody.
"Maybe you should put that away, Aaron. You can play with it later. How about you go clean up the carcases you made, from the front of the driveway, with the hose?" Cailey said keeping her distance.
"Fine" Aaron said tapping the end of the staff on the floor. As he did so, the blades contracted back into the staff. He went downstairs and set his staff in my room, then made his way outside to wash the blood from the driveway. I went back outside after Ben was done washing his truck and shut the garage so no one would mess with our new truck. I was looking at my watch when Zach bumped into me.
"Hey, do you want to go out tonight? Just us?" He asked looking around.
"I don't know, Zach. Is it safe?" I asked.
"We'll be fine. I'll bring a gun, just in case." So I nodded my head and agreed to go with him tonight when the sun went down.
