We lead the way back to the construction site. We ran into no one along the way, and entered the site with ease. The PG truck backed up to the pile on plywood. Tim and I loaded the plywood into their trunk.
"How are you guys awake?" I asked him as we filled the last of the space in the trunk.
"I don't know. I guess we're just different." He said slamming the trunk closed.
"I'll try to update your team when we get back to our safe house." I said turning to enter my truck. The storm clouds were starting to completely cover the sky. The wind was starting to pick up and the trees swayed in the breeze. I didn't want to get caught in the rain. Ben pulled out of the site and we continued home. The rain suddenly came down hard from the skies. Our trucks were built for so many things. But the one thing it didn't understand, was why it didn't have windshield wipers. Ben cursed at the rain, trying to see where he was going. We entered the driveway.
"We're home. We should just leave the plywood in their trunk." Aaron said. Ty was ready to get inside. He had been quiet since we left the city. He had been looking at Luke the entire time. We quickly made room in the garage for their truck. To do so, we had to move the family golf cart. Once they were both in, all of us piled into the front door. Elizabeth and Zach greeted the newcomers as they entered. They all seemed to know each other. Everyone except Parker's dad, who slightly ducked to go through the doorway. Everyone was happy, despite the weather outside. After everyone was comfortable, I sat the PG survivors down and briefed them of our story. This was the first time I told about my dream and the rock we had heated. I told them of Hollow, The Awake, and the Antidote. I noticed Zach had set up his radio so he could communicate with the Awake, in Oklahoma. I didn't ask him if it worked yet.
"So, how are they awake if they weren't in the class when we heated the rock?" Elizabeth asked. Parker and Tim smiled.
"We were the ones that gave Aaron the rock. We were dumb enough to do the same thing an hour before." Parker said. I believed it. The two didn't do the smartest things.
"Aaron what happened to the rock? We could heat it again and breath the fumes so our immunity lasts longer." Ben stated. Aaron seemed to remember what happened to the rock.
"I put it in my pocket when Mr. Sebourn asked about what we were doing." He answered.
"Do you still have it?" I asked. He shook his head.
"I remember having it when I left the school, but I think I lost it before you found me." He explained.
"So, somewhere between the school and the gas station?" Zach asked. Then Aaron's eyes lit up.
"The dumpster." He said remembering.
"Dumpster?" Brianna asked. He nodded.
"I slept in the dumpster the first night after the attacks. I took the rock out, so I could use my jacket as a pillow." Aaron said.
"Why a dumpster?" Tim asked.
"I panicked, okay?!" Aaron exclaimed. Ben ran us through his idea of building little huts for some of us to live in. In order to do so, we would have to expand the fence. The fence wall that surrounded the house was only 10ft away from the side of the house. Tim, Aaron, Parker, his father, and Zach would work on the fence tomorrow. The fence would get done fast because of how many of them were going to work on it. While they did that, Ben, Elizabeth, Brianna, and Emilie would take the trucks back to the job site to obtain more plywood for our project. I would stay at the house and help Ty set up his Science stuff, so he could start working on duplicating the Antidote. Everyone had their jobs for tomorrow. I changed sleeping arrangements due to our new company. We had eleven people, not including Cailey. There were four rooms that people could stay in for the night. Zach and Ben both agreed to let someone sleep in their rooms. Tim and Zach slept in one room, Ben and Parker slept in another, Brianna would squeeze in with the girls, Me, Aaron, and Ty would sleep in my room, and Parker's dad would sleep on the couch. After we got through the Chaos, we all went to our rooms. I was the last one to fall asleep. But when I did, I didn't dream. Nothing but Darkness filled my head.
