Everybody was awake and had gathered in the living room for one final meeting before we split up.
"Anybody have any questions?" I asked the group. No one spoke. "Then, let's get going. Go team." We all got into our groups and got our gear.
"Dray, come here." Ty called. I went to where he was sitting in the living room.
"Yes?" I asked.
"I need someone to do tests on. To test if the Antidote will work or not." He explained. The first person that came to my mind was Cailey. But I didn't want him bothering her until he was sure he had it right. Then my sister popped into mind. She was a year younger than me, but was smarter than I'll ever be.
"What about Madison?" I suggested. He nodded as Brianna called for me.
"Stay safe, Dray." He said as I turned to leave.
"Thanks Mom." I teased. I approached my team and we decided who was going with who. I was riding in the PG truck with Brianna, while Elizabeth and Emilie were riding in our truck with Ben. We all stepped outside and walked towards the garage. I had brought an assault rifle and my Revolver to protect myself if we got into trouble. I hopped into the PG truck with Brianna and both trucks pulled out of the garage. Ben led the way and we followed close behind. I noticed Brianna was inspecting our truck.
"I think you should paint your truck. Put DC on the side." She said looking at me through her glasses. I loved the way her eyes shined. The DC would stand for Drayton Castillo.
"I'm no artist. I don't have the patience." I replied. She smiled.
"I'll just have to help you." she said, as she smiled. Before we knew it we were at the Site. Ben and Brianna backed the trucks up, next to the pile of plywood. I jumped out and went to the rear of the truck. When both of the trunks were open, we started taking wood from the pile and setting it in the back of the trucks. We filled the trunks to the roof of the truck. The pile of wood in each truck would add up to make be enough for the wall. We had enough wood to build everything we needed and more. When we were sure that we couldn't fit any more plywood into the trucks, we jammed the trunks shut and got in.
"How do you think they're doing on expanding the wall?" I asked Brianna as I got in the truck. She shrugged and drove back onto the road behind Ben and the girls. Right when I thought we were going to make it home without any trouble, Emilie stuck her head and arms out the window of our truck, trying to get our attention. I looked in our mirror and could see two trucks on our tail. I was about to start panicking when Brianna asked me something.
"Can you open the glove box?" She asked calmly. I did as she told and opened the glove compartment in front of me. Inside was a medkit, ammo, a small handgun, and a grenade.
"What do you need?" I asked looking back at the pursuing trucks.
"Would you hand me the grenade?" She asked. I pulled it out and gave it to her. "Thanks, now take the wheel." She let go of the steering wheel completely. I quickly reached over and grabbed the wheel. Brianna calmly pulled the pin of the grenade and dropped it out the window. Right when one of the trucks drove over it, the grenade detonated and blew the truck into a fiery hunk of metal. She kindly thanked me and grabbed hold of the wheel again. There was still one truck remaining when we were almost back home. I opened my window and took one shot at the truck's driver with my revolver. I hit the driver in the chest and he spun out of control. The truck flipped and hit a tree, exploding as it did so. I rolled up my window and set my revolver in my lap. I looked over at Brianna, who was peering over at my revolver.
"You're a good shot with that thing. Have it long?" She asked. I nodded.
"I started using it the day Emilie saved Me, Ben, and Zach. At the same construction site we were just at." I replied grasping the handle if my revolver.
