We started to make a plan for rescuing Ty from the City. Aaron was the first to say he was coming. I was the only one that knew where to go. I asked Elizabeth If she wanted to come with us, but refused and stayed with Cailey. Me and two others were the only ones that were going. Ben, Aaron, and I got our weapons and medical kits before we hopped into the truck. Before Ben started the truck, Zach ran out to tell me something.
"Can I grab that radio thing that The Awake gave us? I want to try to get it set up so we can talk to them from here." He proclaimed. I instantly knew why he wanted to contact the Awake. He wanted to talk to Hannah. I pretended I didn't know his plan.
"Oh, sure, go ahead. See what you can do." I said happily. I was glad that Zach had found Hannah. She would keep him happy for the time being. They both seemed to like each other, since they first made eye contact.
"Okay, thanks." He said cheerfully. He opened the trunk and pulled out a large, blue duffle bag. The Awake had put our radio gift inside. He dragged it into the house and shut the door behind him.
"So, you're sure that this Ty guy, can make more of the antidote for Cailey?" Aaron said, as we pulled out of the garage.
"I'm POSITIVE he can do it. I promise. Have I ever broken a promise?" I asked.
"Yes. You have." He said, not looking me in the eyes.
"What promise?!" I asked furiously. I was very confused with Aaron's answer.
"I doesn't matter..." He said softly.
"No, It does matter! What promise did I break, Aaron?!" I asked loudly. I felt the fire start again.
"Just drop it." Aaron said, avoiding my eyes.
"No!! Tell me!! What are you so afraid of?!"
"Fine!! You want to know?! You promised that you wouldn't let anything happen to us!!" He said furiously, losing his temper.
"We're all still here, aren't we?!" I said, still not getting what he meant.
"No, something just happened to Cailey, didn't it!?!?" He finally yelled. Then I was quiet. He was right.
"Aaron, I didn't know. I'm sorry... I swear I can wake her up if-" I started. Aaron cut me off.
"I'll believe that, when I see it." He said calmly. "Ben, let's go."
"Okay. Give me the directions, Drayton." He said awkwardly. I told him where to go and he drove in the direction of our destination. The sleeping city.
