I'm From Another Dimension

They put Vortex in a cell next to Tamashi, well Tamashi didn't quite have a cell. They turned off the electric bars since by now they fully trusted him, after he helped rescue Sans, or, well, attempted. They found an inflatable mattress in a storage closet and gave him blankets and pillows. So it was much more comfortable. Vortex sat in her cell for a good while, thinking over what she did, and what her life would be like now. Eventually, lunch came and went. After everyone ate, Sans took it upon herself to bring Vortex a sandwich and chips. Vortex jumped at the electric bars suddenly disappearing.

"Here ya go." Said Sans setting the plate down in front of her. When she didn't react to it Sans pushed it closer. Vortex suddenly lunged at the food and swallowed it in three gulps.

"Thanks." She muttered with a mouth full of food.

"How come everyone who eats with us is starving?"

"Well... It's pretty good."

"I mean, my dad was a chef, he taught me a few tricks, but it's just a sandwich."

"Well, most of the demon kingdom is starving, also it's a pretty good sandwich."

"But I though the demon king treated you like, I dunno, his child."

"No, since I was taken all I've learned is combat, hand-to-hand, ranged, all sorts, he loves no one."

"Oh...Well, if you like the food, we found cookie dough and we're making cookies, do you want any?"

"C- cookies?" Asked Vortex looking confused.

"Yeah, haven't you ever had cookies." Vortex shook her to reply.

"I heard of cookies, never had them though, we don't have much sugar."

"Tch, first pizza now cookies, come on I'll show you." Replied Sans as she grabbed her hand and dragged her upstairs. "Yo guys, have you made the cookies yet!" Yelled Sans once at the top of the stairs. She walked to the end of the hall way and saw Tamashi's mouth full of sandwiches, Erza about to put another one in, and Isa chanting 'Ta-ma-SHI".

"Hey." Said Erza, sandwich in hand.

"YO LEMME TRY!" Screamed Sans as she ran and shoved Tamashi of the chair. Tamashi attempted to yell about it being his turn, put only succeeded in sputtering out bread crumbs. Erza had already stuffed two sandwiches in Sans's mouth and Isa changed her chant.

"Why're you doing this?" Asked Vortex.

"For fun dummy." Said Sans as Erza stuffed her mouth with another sandwich.

"Fun?"  Asked Vortex. Sans quickly swallowed her sandwiches.

"You dunno what fun is?" Asked Sans. Vortex shook her head. They all stared at Vortex. Then Sans broke out into a humongous grin. "You know what this needs guys!"

"What?" Asked Tamshi, who finally swallowed all the sandwiches.

"Don't you dare." Said Erza.

"F is for friends who do stuff together!" Sang Sans.

"Sans!"

"U is for U and me!" Joined Isa. Erza banged her head on the table.

"N is foR N-YWHERE AND ANYTIME AT ALL DOWN HERE IN THE DEEP BLUE SEA!" Screamed Sans and Erza in unison.

"F is for friends who do stuff together." Said Vortex.

"Nah ya gotta sing it!" Said Sans in a sing song voice.

"F is for friends who do stuff together." Sang Vortex in a shaky voice.

"U is for U and me!" Sang Everyone except Erza, Vortex getting better at singing.

"N is for N-where and any time at all." Sang Erza. Everyone turned to look at her and she put on a hint of a smile.

"DOWN HERE IN THE DEEP BLUE SEA!" Sang everyone in horrible unison. They all laughed for a long time after that.

"I've, never felt like this, I feel, happy!" Yelled Vortex.

"Yeah yah do!" Yelled Sans and threw a pillow from the couch at her.

"Ok, I want cookies." Stated Erza.

"Ok, let's do it then." Replied Isa. They put the cookies on the sheet, and Sans baked the cookies, she learned to warm her hand at just the right temperature, and transfer it to the tray, baking the cookies almost immediately. Vortex rejoiced at the taste of her first cookies. They played the sandwich game again, but with cookies, Vortex volunteered to play. Soon the cookies were out and they all flopped onto any seat they could find... And Bella.

"Well that was fun." Said Erza.

"Yeah." Said everyone.

"Y'know, I never asked, what is this place?" Asked Vortex.

"Oh, we dunno" Replied Isa.

"I'm pretty sure this is a base from the demon war."

"Waddo you mean." Asked Sans nervously.

"Well, the technologies pretty old, and it has an emergency escape, rations, and a training room, it looks like a base to me."

"We just got here, like, two days ago."Said Isa.

"Oh, cool." They sat there in silence for a bit.

"What're you gonna do when you run out of food?"

"Huh." Replied Erza.

"Yeah, it isn't gonna last forever."

" We have money, but maybe we should pay a visit to the halfling village, Sans how much money do we have left?" Asked Erza. Sans teleported their bag of coins. It was a quarter full, but along with the money Vortex gave them it was brimming.

"A bag full." Replied Sans.

"Cool."

"What're you gonna do when you run out of money?" Asked Vortex.

"Magically get some more like all people do in poorly written stories." Replied Sans.

"Well this is real life and you guys are eventually gonna run outta money, you need jobs."

"You don't have a job."

"I did until I cut my bosses head off."

"Hate to agree, but Vortex is right." Interrupted Isa. "That money isn't gonna last forever, plus a job might help us blend in some more." Said Isa. Sans, Erza, and Tamashi all groaned loudly. "So it's settled, we have get jobs." Said Isa, shuddering.
