"That's £5.20 please.", I opened up my purse and handed over a £10 note, she handed back my change.
"See you later.", I said, I grabbed my coffee and sandwich from the counter and headed back outside, I put my umbrella back up and tried to dodge the puddles. London loved the rain, I had seen the sunshine maybe once or twice during the three weeks I'd been here.
The three weeks I'd been here felt the longest three weeks of my life, I was without my best friend. Christian had dropped numerous messages and calls, he was acting so normal like nothing had happened which was strange and left me confused. If we both loved one another then why were we doing this?
The rain was becoming harder with every step I took, it was battering the umbrella and the wind made it turn inside out multiple times. I decided to just take cover and stay under a covered part of the pavement.
"Miss, it's free admission today. Come in and get out of this awful weather, it's warm in here.", I turned around and raised my eyebrows.
"Excuse me?", I asked. He stood outside and half smiled, he had short curly hair and was pale.
"The museum. It's free for today, Sunday's are always free. Weather doesn't look like it's going to hold off anytime soon.", He played with his staff laynard around his neck and nervously grinned.
"Oh you work here!", He nodded and shook his photo pass, I shook out my umbrella and watched the rain get harder.
"I'm not a weird guy trying to drag you into a museum, I've been told to use the weather to get people in. My manager is hot on my back right now, it's my second week in the job so I really need you to come inside so it looks like I'm actually working.", I giggled and nodded. I sipped the rest of my coffee and placed into the bin beside me, he held open the door and I followed him in.
"Wow, this is beautiful.", I looked up to see a beautiful glass dome that showcased the sky, it was a shame it was raining. Everything had so much detail, the design had so much thought.
"This is a museum for art, you into that?", He watched me carefully.
"If I'm honest I don't really follow art, I really enjoy taking photos.", We started slowly walking around the museum, it wasn't immense but there was enough to see.
"That's cool. You visiting here from the states?", I instantly thought of Christian, there was like a hole in my heart. Everything related back to him.
"I don't know if I'll be living here or just visiting.", He raised his eyebrows and nodded.
"Options open! Like it. Where you living/visiting?", He asked.
"The Shard.", He raised his eyebrows higher this time, he looked shocked.
"Wow, luxury. Business woman?", I scoffed and shook my head, I tucked a strand of hair behind my ear and lightly sighed.
"It was a gift.", He almost gasped.
"Shit, so sorry that was extremely unprofessional.", I laughed.
"Don't worry I won't be telling your manager, say what you want.", I stated.
"A gift. Someone must really love you.", I sadly smiled and cleared my voice.
"You are very upfront aren't you!", He slightly smiled and we stopped still, he pointed towards the painting that hung infront of us and proudly nodded.
"Russ Vanderaled. The original, this is my favourite.", I gazed at the painting, I looked it for a long while before looking back at him.
"I'm sorry, what is so special about this painting. It's just a four people portrait with loads of colours.", He chuckled and nodded.
