Christian had left for work around an hour ago, he was not in the best mood because he was hungover from last night. I had one last mouthful of my breakfast and then chucked the rest in the bin, I really had no appetite.

I decided to get myself out today, I was pregnant not ill. Christian would not be happy about it but I needed space and air, I could not be locked up in this fancy apartment anymore. He was so overprotective at times. Don't get me wrong, I love how he wants to keep us safe but there's a feeling of being protected and then being imprisoned. Ok, maybe imprisoned was a step too far but I needed air and space and I wanted to do that without explaining myself or having an argument.

I grabbed my cars keys and pressed the elevator button, within seconds Taylor was at  my side with his arms folded.

"Where are we off too?", He questioned, he pressed the elevator button again and I cleared my voice.

"Taylor. I am perfectly capable of going to the shops and then coming back, safely.", He raised his eyebrows and pressed the elevator button again.

"I am not doubting your capability of keeping yourself safe, I am doubting another factor which is there are certain people out there that want to harm yourself and Mr. Grey.", My belly did a flip and within an instant I felt sick at the thought of anything happening to Christian. I gulped and forced a smile, the elevator doors pinged open and we both stepped inside.

"Can we go to the local supermarket and then go for a walk somewhere?", I had to give in about going out by myself, I had to realise that I was just looking after myself anymore.

"Of course.", Taylor smiled, we strolled to the car in comfortable silence and he opened the door for me, I climbed in awkwardly because the baby was soon to pop. I rubbed my stomach slowly with my palm, I could not wait to meet our perfect little human. My mobile phone buzzed which interrupted my thoughts, I unlocked the phone as Taylor began to move the car out of the garage.

'Anastasia, I am sorry for this morning. My head was still swimming in brandy, I am heading to a meeting in Tacoma. I will message you when I am on my way back, dinner?'

I half smiled and quickly replied.

'Someone is clearly getting too old to handle one or a dozen drinks, drive safe and yes, I will accept your invitation to dinner x'

'You just might get another invitation a little later, the cable ties are restocked.'

I giggled and Taylor looked up at the mirror, we caught eyes and I blushed and looked back at my phone, I grinned as I replied.

'Sounds good. Laters, baby.' I put my phone in my purse as we arrived to the shops, I picked up a few things that we probably did not even need but it felt great to buy my own food. I pushed the trolley around and placed vanilla ice cream in there alongside the milk, cucumber and lamb steaks. I went to the till and had a casual conversation with the older lady behind the counter, it felt lovely to speak to someone new.

"When is the baby due?", She questioned.

"We have around four and a half weeks left.", She smiled widely and placed the groceries in the bag, she handed it over the counter and spoke again.

"Congratulations.", We said our goodbyes and Taylor took the carrier bag off me, I looked at him and he half smiled as we continued walking back to the car.

"I am sorry, I cannot help being a gentleman.", I felt my phone buzzing in my purse, I climbed into the car and realised I had two missed calls from Christian and a few messages. I opened up the messages first and slowly scrolled down them.

'Ana. I have had to cancel the meeting, I am not feeling too great.'

'Ring me when you see this.'

'Ana, can you please come home.'

'I need tablets, my head feels like it is going to explode.'

I rang Christian's number and he took sometime to answer it which was quite unusual for him, he answered it and there was a brief period of silence before he spoke.

"Anastasia.", He sounded groggy. "When you come in can you bring me the box of tablets in the cupboard.", I sighed, I could feel Taylor's eyes burning into mine.

"What's up? Are you in bed.", He heavily sighed and I heard the line slightly breaking up, I pulled my phone away to see if he was still connected. I put my phone back to my ear when I heard his voice again, I lowered the window as I began to get a little hot from the intense heating Taylor had set.

"I am in the office, I am just finishing a few things up and I will be going to sleep.", I heard him wince in pain and my belly dropped. "Sorry, my head is pounding. Just meet me in the office with the tablets and yourself, I love you.", The line cut dead.

"Is everything ok?", Taylor asked.

"Christian cancelled all his meetings because he is sick, he is back at home now.", Taylor nodded.

"That is unusual for Mr. Grey.", I nodded and for some reason was really worried about him. It could just be a case of man flu but he sounded awful on the phone, the winces were also worrying me. Why was he wincing in pain?

Before I knew it we were back in the garage, I opened the car door soon as we came to a stop and climbed out. "Would you like me to bring your bag up?", Taylor asked.

"I'll manage, thank you.", I took the bag from Taylor's hand and paced to the elevator, I pressed the button several times and they opened a lot faster than earlier. The doors pinged opened and revealed Christian's apartment, it was so quiet. I walked to the kitchen and grabbed the box of tablets, I pulled a glass from the glass cupboard and filled it with water.

I grabbed both of them together and walked upstairs to Christian's office, I balanced both things in my hand and then turned the door handle but it was locked. I tried again but the door would not open, I knocked on the door but heard nothing.

"Anastasia. Get the spare key.", I rolled my eyes and muttered underneath my breath, I went back downstairs and into the kitchen before grabbing the spare key in one of the mugs in the cupboard. I went back upstairs and picked up the glass of water and tablets from the floor and opened the door, Christian was not in his chair but I heard heavy breathing.

"Christian?", I called out.

Christian then came into sight and I froze, my whole body would not move. I dropped the glass of water in pure shock and watched the glass smash into smithereens across the floor, my body had forgot to function, I was living in my worst nightmare.
