"Maybe he has cancer." Niall suggests walking in tow with Liam, the two in his backyard walking through the garden. "Maybe." Liam agrees, "Connor left yet?"
"Not yet, but he's packed." Liam replies plucking his hands in his pockets as he turns to look at a dead rose bush, "You know Dad had that one planted just for Papa, one time they actually liked each other."
"what happened?"
"James died, I was born." Liam guessed bitterly, the two resuming to walk, "Have you found out what Bradley said?" Niall asks, "Afraid to ask, must've been bad if Papa still thinks about it."
"He's not the only one." Liam snaps his head to Niall, "what?"
"Bradley too thinks about it. After you left the den he came in crying because of what he said." Niall reports, Liam stopping dead in his tracks, "what'd he say?!"
"Something like they didn't deserve to loose James." Liam sighs shaking his head, "Bradley wouldn't tell Papa they deserved to loose James. No one's that cruel." Niall raised an eyebrow, "Maybe Bradley takes after Louis."
"You're calling my Papa cruel?" Niall scoffs, "Didn't know I had to spell it out for you." Liam chuckles softly, "Guess so." It's quiet for the moment, the sound of their boots on the snow being the only noise, "When do you return to the doctor?"
"Next week, Papa said he's taking me." Niall nods, "So are you not happy to have your parents finally in your life?" Liam inhales deeply thinking through his answer, "I don't want to be hurt. They've never been there except when I got really sick."
"You don't think their back because your sick, right?"
"I hope not. I'm not doing those breathing things again, I want assisted suicide." Niall laughs elbowing Liam on the side, "Tell me when, I'll pull the plug."

Storming to the living room he sees Connor, "where's your brother?"
"Which one?"
"Liam." Louis replies rolling his eyes, "Out." Connor replied, "Out?!" Louis shrieks his look snapping toward the back glass door seeing Liam laughing with Niall in the backyard. "Specify the backyard as at home. You scared me." Connor scoffed, "Sorry for me thinking you don't actually care." Louis frowns sitting on the couch next to Connor, "Looking at houses?"
"Apartments."
"Why?" Louis asks crossing his legs underneath him, "Figured I'd keep up and on with the Styles' brothers leaving." Connor replies his tone unamused with Louis' presence, "No one is making you leave."
"Yet somehow the invitation to stay doesn't seem very appealing."
"We used to be close, you would tell me everything." Louis remarks his hand sneaking behind Connor's head ruffling his hair, "Papa stop,"
"Connor please, I'm here now." Tears built in Connor's eyes the laptop on his lap being shut and sat on the ground, "W-why'd you leave?"
"Baby I was working, I didn't know how much you all meant to me." Louis excused leaning his head on connor's, "Baby, sweetheart, I love you."
"N-no.., Pa-pa stop."
"Connor you missed me, missed our talks. You'd tell me that you were dating two girls at the same time. Connor the player, you'd say." Louis hummed pressing his lips to Connor's temple, "N-no, stop." Wrapping both arms around the teen, Connor lays his head on Louis' chest letting sobs pour from him, Louis soothing him. "I know baby, It's okay."

Hurrying to his bedroom, Liam is stopped by a hand grabbing his arm, "Don't fall for it, he's done this before." It's Connor, his eyes are red as if he's been crying, "P-Promise me Liam, don't let him hurt you." Liam says nothing though nods. His arm is let go, Connor storming to his own room leaving Liam to stand in the hallway confused as to what just happened.
"How is Neil?"
"His name is Niall, Papa." Liam mumbles sitting at the dinner table with Harry and Louis, "He's fine." Liam adds seeing Harry's look. "How was your day dear?" Louis asks Harry smiling gently at him, "Wonderful, I had three interviews." Liam sits with judgement. He wants to ask, but would they consider it rude? Never has he eaten with both parents alone. Never in his life. "How is school, Liam?"
"G-good Daddy."
"Grades are good too, yes?" Louis asks narrowing his look, "Y-yes Papa."
"Good." The dinner is served, pineapple marinated chicken with carrots, "Thank you Rose." Liam whispers, "Of course dear." She replies sending him a smile. Digging in, Liam looks up to see Harry eating with Louis staring out the window past Liam's head, "S-something wrong?"
"'Course not darling, just thinking." Liam nods setting his fork down, "P-papa?"
"What Liam?" Louis asks griping onto his napkin, one hand holding his glass of wine he drained in one take, "W-what ti-time-"
"Speak without stuttering or shut up." Harry snapped banging his hand on the table scaring both Liam and Louis, "We both need more wine!" Rose raised an eyebrow pouring some in both glasses, "Jesus you think you've never served anyone." Liam has tears building in his eyes, Louis sending daggers to Rose who washes the dishes, "Liam what were you saying?" Harry asks impatiently, Liam feeling the lump in his throat, "N-nothing daddy." Louis snaps his look to the teen, "No sweetheart what is it? What time is what?" Liam can't help but start crying. Not even three weeks ago his Papa was calling him a "Fuck up" now he was sticking up for him? Liam wanted his parents alright, he wanted them to leave him alone.
Pushing away from the table, Liam darts upstairs before he could be scolded.
