"I'm seriously starting to regret ever saying yes." I mutter into my hands as I look out to Luke again,

He is hunched over the open hood of the car, pretending to know how to fix it by pulling and tugging on various tubes as if it's going to magically start the car somehow.

We'd been arguing over who we would turn gay for, funnily enough, I had said Hailee Steinfeld but Luke had argued that Selena Gomez was way hotter and that because people like her exist he would never turn gay. To tease him I then went on to talk about how cute him and Calum would be together then Luke, obviously repulsed by this, Luke seemed to hate this. Then the car started shaking down the road until Luke parked it and couldn't start it again, he said it was karma for me being a bitch to him.

"Well you didn't have to did you now princess." He answers rather suddenly and harshly as he rubs his hands down on the material of his skinny, black jeans,

I roll my eyes, crossing my arms across my chest as I lean back into my seat, my phone had died just ten minutes before we broke down thus leading to the conversation before hand. There is a loud bang that causes me to jump in surprise, I look up to see that Luke has shut the hood of the car and is now smirking stupidly at me in front of it. I just shake my head and choose to ignore it.

"You know what I'm just gonna call my mom." He says nonchalantly and I don't think it's registered until now that I'm going to meet his mother,

My eyes widen and my body stiffens as he pulls out his phone but I'm more worried about what she's going to think of me when she sees me, I have no future goals in life and honestly all I've really had my heart set on until this point of my life is to get as far away from my parents as I can yet here I am about to meet someone else's for the first time.

A sharp tap at the window startles me as I begin to roll it down, Luke is stood with his beanie now pulled back onto his head.

"My mom said she'd be here in about twenty minutes so you can either get out and wait or stay in there without any AC." He reasons with me and I internally groan, knowing that I'd have to move otherwise not only would I be meeting Luke's mother but I would also be meeting her with sweat stains on my shirt,

My legs are also now beginning to stick to the seat so I unbuckle my seatbelt as Luke, surprisingly, opens the door to help me out. Once I've successfully climbed out of the car I walk to the front where I lean against the hood, Luke doing the same.

"So what's Christmas like with the Hemmings?" I ask not wanting to start some sort of conversation but also not wanting to be stuck in silence for twenty minutes,

He shrugs lightly, "Noisy usually but my brothers, Jack and Ben, are away with their girlfriends and my dad walked out on us about a year and a half ago." He tells me casually, as though it's the easiest thing to say but I can tell that to him it isn't,

A place a soothing hand on his shoulder, rubbing gently before leaning my head against it.

"My parents hated celebrating Christmas because it just reminded them that they had a kid." I laughed, memories of pervious Christmas' flooding though my mind,

I'd been the first and last child my parents had after being conceived when my mother was only sixteen, I would have been aborted had it not been for my mothers religious parents who found out my mothers intention just days prior. Needless to say their life would have been better off without me in it.
