Luke stirs slightly on the sofa beside me and the blanket that I had placed over him falls slightly. His arm hangs off the sofa as I turn the TV off and check the time.

11:00PM.

There's also a text from Finley letting me know that she's staying over Ashton again and I text back telling her to have fun.

"Hey." I hear a voice say beside me and when I look up I see Luke looking at me with his eyes wide open,

"Hey, when'd you wake up?" I ask stretching my arms out in front of me Luke has a small smile on his face as he shrugs nonchalantly,

"Maybe bout ten minutes ago." He says pulling himself up from the flat position he was in, "What time is it?"

"Half eleven."

"Really holy crap I slept long." He laughs to himself stretching out his long limbs,

"I know surprised me, even after you drank so much coffee." I say nibbling on the pizza slice I had gotten myself shortly after we'd gotten in,

He lets out a small cough, placing a hand on the nape of his neck.

"Yeah all the homework must be really taking a tole." He laughs awkwardly as my eyebrows raise in suspicion,

"And I have a date with Obama next week. Come one Luke what's really going on?" I press placing the now empty plate on the small coffee table in front of me,

Luke sits up, his head now placed in his hands.

"I guess I'm not sure about anything anymore." He admits his voice low and shaky almost as though he's scared of my reaction,

"Not sure about school?" I ask wanting him to elaborate more,

A loud sigh drops from his lips as he leans back slightly, his hands now placed firmly on his thighs.

"I'm not sure about life. What if all this for nothing? What if I'm not where I want to be? What if-"

"Luke shut up." I interrupt standing up from the sofa to walk to him, "You're determined and love what you do. If that's not enough then I don't know what you want." I say crouched down in front of him,

I take one of his hands in mine, stroking the back in what I hope is a calming and comforting way. His lips purse as he looks up making eye contact with me.

"I want to be happy." He whispers his eyes pouring into mine,

"What makes you happy Luke?" I ask my heart now thudding harshly in my chest,

He shrugs softly his breaths uneven and staggered, his mouth is turned down into a frown as a almost silent sigh falls from his lips.

"I don't know yet."

"What-"

"I went to college because I thought it would make my family happy but now all my mom does is complain about how I'm never home anymore. I started dating Heather because I thought I was happy with her but then she turned into a raging bitch."
