A/N Do you see what chapter it is? 1. It's chapter Twenty One (Pilots) 2. IT'S CHAPTER TWENTY ONE. I didn't think I would make it this far, especially with this many readers. I thought that no one would read it, and that I would give up a few chapters in. But NOPE.
Anyways, I'm sure you want to get to reading, especially after that cliff hanger ;). The song is Invisible by Hunter Hayes. Enjoy the chapter!
I opened my eyes and looked around. I was in Tyler's car. I sat up and looked outside. We were in front of my house. There were three police cars around. My head was pounding and everything was stinging. I yelped out in pain when I tried using my right hand to open the door. I saw police officers taking my parents out of the house, it looked like they were handcuffed. I tried opening the door again, this time using my left hand. I was successful.
I got out, but immediately fell to the ground. I cried out in pain again. I saw Josh running towards me. "Abby! Are you okay?" He asked frantically. "Yeah, I just suddenly wanted to be on the hard ground." I said sarcastically. He ignored that. "Here, let me help you up." He said, picking me up a little bit. "We might have to take you to the hospital after all." He said, more to himself then to me. He put me in the back of the car again. "Um, what's going on?" I asked Josh. He sighed. "We'll talk about it when we get back home." He said.
We sat there for a few minutes when Tyler and a police officer came over to us. Tyler hugged me. "It's going to be okay, we can leave soon. The officer just has to ask some questions, Okay?" He said. I nodded. Then the officer started asking me questions. (Just imagine that there are more questions then the one coming up. I couldn't think of any and google wasn't helping.)
"Have your parents hit you before today?" He asked me. I slowly nodded. "When did they start?" He asked. "A-around when I was six or s-seven." I stuttered. I looked over to Tyler and Josh, they had tears in their eyes. I looked down at the ground. He asked me a few more questions, then told us we could leave. He then told Tyler something, but I didn't hear what it was. I moved farther back in the car and buckled the seat belt. Josh got in the driver seat, and Tyler got in next to me. He held onto me the entire way to the hospital.
When we got there, Tyler had me go on his back since I couldn't walk that well. We got inside and Josh walked up to the reception desk and told them the situation. A few moments later, there was a doctor. "Alright, if you would follow me." He said, and started walking towards a hallway. We followed him. He took us to a room with several small beds with curtains around them. He walked over to one of the cubicles and Tyler set me down on the bed. The Doctor (Anyone get the joke thing? No? Okay...) Looked at me seeing what was wrong, which seemed to be everything.
He said that my right wrist was broken, and my left foot was sprained. The rest of me just had a bunch of cuts and bruises, but they still needed to be bandaged. He put a cast around my wrist, and some kind of bandage wrap around my foot. Then he put bandages on the cuts and bruises, including the one's on my on my sides, stomach, and back, which was a little awkward. "Alright, you're all fixed up." He said. Then he turned to Tyler and Josh. "She can't use her right hand for around two weeks, and she can't walk on her foot for 4-7 days." He said, then he told us we could leave. We thanked him and left.
When we got back to the house (Tyler's and Jenna's, not Abby's.) Tyler picked me up again and walked inside. "You're finally back, what took so long?" Jenna said, coming out of the kitchen. She looked at us, then looked confused when she saw me. "Abby? Are you okay?" She asked. I didn't say anything, I didn't know what to say. Tyler set me down on the couch. "We have to talk." He said to Jenna. Then he turned to me. "Then, we need to talk." He said to me. Tyler and Jenna went into the kitchen, while Josh sat next to me. After a few minutes, I thought I heard Jenna cry. 'Look what you did, you made her cry. They hate you. Everyone does.' My mind said. 'I know.' I thought.
They came back from the kitchen. Jenna's eyes were a little red. She sat next to me and hugged me, very tightly. Tyler sat down and sighed. He looked at me. "Why didn't you tell us?" He softly asked. I shrugged. He continued to look at me, waiting for an actual answer. I sighed. "Nobody else ever seemed to care when I told them, so I just stopped telling people and stopped try to get help. I didn't really think about saying anything." I said quietly. Jenna hugged me even tighter. "Abby, we do care. Even if no one else does, we do. Please tell us these things." Josh said. I nodded. I felt like crying, but I held it in. "What's going to happen now?" I asked. Everyone looked at Tyler. He looked down at his feet. "You can stay with us for a few days, but then you'll have to go to an orphanage or something." He said. I looked down at my feet as well. "Is that what the police officer said to you earlier?" I asked. He nodded. We all sat there in silence, taking it in.
After a little bit, Tyler spoke up. "Come on, let's get some ice cream. You deserve it." He said. Oh great. Food. I tried to protest, but Tyler didn't let me. I sighed, giving up. "Okay." I said. He smiled a little bit. "Is everyone going?" I asked, looking at Josh and Jenna. They shook theirs heads no. "Are you sure? I feel bad for getting ice cream if you aren't as well." I said to them. Josh chuckled a bit. "Abby, it's fine. Go get ice cream." He said. I nodded a little bit. Tyler had me get on his back again. "Am I going to get cruches, or are you just going to carry me every where?" I asked Tyler. He smiled. "I was thinking of going with the latter." He said. I huffed, and he walked to the car.
We talked a little bit on the way, but we mainly just listened to the radio. We got to Dairy Queen. "So, what do you want?" Tyler asked me. "Um, a small vanilla shake please." I said. He nodded. He pulled up to the drive-thru and ordered. After we ate our ice cream, we went back to the house and watched a movie.
~A few hours later~ (I really hope you read that in the voice of the person who does that on spongbob.)
"I think I'm going to go to bed now." I said, trying to get up. "Hey! You're not supposed to walk, remember?" Tyler said. I sighed, and Tyler picked me up and took me upstairs. 'You're crushing him under your weight. You're so fat, you should eat less.' The voice said. I tried to ignore it, but it didn't work. I knew it was right.
Tyler set me down on the bed, told me goodnight, and left the room. I didn't know where my bag was, or if I even had it with me, so I just turned the light off and laid down. Falling asleep surprisingly fast.
A/N Hello! I hope you liked the chapter, I tried to make it longer since some of you asked me to. I know this is probably going a little slow, but trust me, it's probably going to get even slower soon. That's just how I made it in my head at first, so that's how I'm doing it. I'll try and make the slow parts not last that long, only a few chapters to make it not seem as slow. Anyways, have a good day, and I'll see you in the next chapter. Bye!
Stay alive |-/
Oh, and don't forget to eat something <3
