A/N I'm really sorry for not updating like I said I would, I'm running out of ideas and I haven't had much motivation to write, plus I'm sick again. So if any of you have some ideas, please send them my way, I'd very much appreciate it.
Now, on with the chapter! The song is Antidote by Faith Marie. Enjoy the chapter!
I opened my eyes only a tiny bit to see sunlight blaring into my eyes. I groaned and sat up, seeing that I fell asleep at my desk. I rubbed the back of my neck which was extremely stiff. I looked down at the notebook in front of me to see barely any changes to my drawing. 'Dangit!' I thought. I sighed. I looked back up and out the window that was a few feet away from the desk. The sun was up and casting a warm glow on the ground. There were few clouds in the sky, showing off the pale to bright blue shades. I slowly got up and out of my chair. I pulled my hoodie down and put my hair into a ponytail. 'I should get a hair cut soon.' I thought as I finished and headed to the door. My body ached, but I made down the stairs. As soon as I hit the bottom step, I could smell the aroma of bacon, eggs, and coffee filling the house.
I walked into the kitchen and saw Jenna making the bacon, and Josh making the coffee. As I walked forward Josh looked up and smiled at me. "Good morning! Did you sleep well? I'm assuming so seeing as you just now came down." He said. I waved a bit and nodded. I walked over to the fridge and opened it, taking out a water bottle.
I headed over to the living room and sat down. I rested my chin in the palm of my hand and closed my eyes, some how still very tired. Suddenly I felt someone touch my shoulder which caused me to jump. I quickly turned around to see Tyler with a big smile on his face. I glared at him. "You're so annoying sometimes you know that?" I mumbled. He laughed. He walked around the couch and sat down next to me. "You looked tired, so I was just trying to wake you up! Which seemed to work, so you really you should be thanking me." He said, the smile still there. "Uh huh, I'm sure that's what you were doing." I said. He nodded. "Well, now that you're awake, I was thinking we could go buy or at least look for a laptop today," He said. "We don't have to if you're not up to it though." He added quickly. I mean, I can walk so it should be fine. "Yeah, let's do it. What time were you thinking?" I asked. "Sometime this afternoon, after I finish working on some things we could probably leave." He said. I nodded. I heard someone walking our way and turned around to see Jenna. "Can you set the table Abby?" She asked. I nodded and got up. I followed her to the kitchen. I grabbed the plates first and set them on the table, then the cups, and lastly the forks. I helped Jenna put the food on the table before sitting down. everyone else sitting down as well. Josh prayed and then we all started eating.
Once everyone was done, I help clear the table and put the dishes in the dishwasher. When that was finished I went back up to my room. I walked over to my closet and opened it. I grabbed a blue t-shirt, then walked over to my dresser. I opened one of the drawers and grabbed a pair of skinny jeans. I grabbed some underclothes as well and set everything out on my bed before heading to the bathroom. Because of all the bandages and some stitches, I wasn't able to take a shower. But my hair desperately needed washed, so I decided to try to wash it in the sink. It wasn't easy and I made a mess everywhere, but I still got it washed. I wrapped a towel around my hair to help it dry faster before opening the door and going back to my room. Once I got into my room I closed the door and changed clothes. When I finished I put on my jacket and took off the towel. I put the clothes I had been wearing away before heading back to the bathroom. I brushed my hair while putting the towel in the laundry room. Once I was done I set the brush down in a drawer before going back to my room.
I laid on my bed for a while, just thinking and listening to Tyler work on some music on the piano downstairs. I rubbed my face and looked up at the ceiling with a sigh, trying to rid my mind of the thoughts that were going through it. I got up and headed over to my desk. I grabbed a notebook and went back to my bed. Instead of working on a sketch like I had planned, I decided to just look through pages of drawings and writings I had done in the past. I didn't help with trying to avoid certain thoughts, but I continued to look at them. I saw how things have gotten worse, and how things have gotten better. I still write paragraphs upon paragraphs of depressing thoughts, but there wasn't anything about abuse anymore. A side from nightmares about it, but that was different. 'I need to find a way to thank Josh and Tyler for what they've done for me, for helping me with so much.' I thought. I turned another page, which ended up being blank. This was where I stopped last time. I grabbed a pen and let my hand hover over the paper for a moment before writing.
