Chapter 2
Or so I think, someone pushes me, and before I know it, I am rolling on the ground with them. We stop rolling and now on top of him, I stare into his deep blue eyes.
I hear I faint sound.
"What?" I ask, still mesmerized by his eyes.
"Are you okay?" Says a voice.
I realize that the voice is coming from the boy laying under me, so I quickly get up and off of him.
"Ya, ya, I'm fine. Thanks," I stutter. "I'm Luke," He says.
"Katie, but you can call me Kate-And I can't thank you enough for saving my life. Is there anything I could do?" "Only walk to school with me, where do you go?"
I blush, "Southeast. How about you?"
He smiled and say that that is where he goes, too.
I wait through the awkward silence, which Luke breaks.
"I haven't seen you at school before."
"I just moved here from Florida."
I thought about all of the friends I had to leave behind for this rainy Oregon city. I still can't believe that my parents took me out in the middle of my senior year of high school. My thoughts are scrambled, and I find myself heading towards the ground. I tripped.
