Chapter 4
"Do you want to go out with me?" He asks out of breath.
"Sure!" I say before he can even finish his sentence. I correct myself, "I mean-ya, sure, I'd be up for that."
He laughs and then asks for my phone. Surprised, I give it to him.
"What are you doing?" I say.
"Putting my number in your phone. I'll text you later."
"K, see ya," I say, trying to be cool.
As soon as he leaves I nearly jump up and down in happiness.
I run home.
As soon as I get home I call my friend Melissa, I let her talk first. She tells me everything that is going on over in Florida. She can hear the excitement in my voice so she lets me talk.
"Mel, I think I might have a boyfriend!"
"Really?!?"
"It's not official, but he did ask me out." I tell her all about Luke, his smile, his eyes, everything that I like about him, which takes awhile.
I say goodbye to Melissa right when Luke texts me.
"Hey ;)"
"Hey" I text back.
"Are you free Saturday? I was thinking dinner and a movie."
"Sure, but there has to be popcorn."
"It's a deal," he said, "see you then."
Saturday is suddenly my favorite day of the week.
