Chapter 12
I was feeling better now that I looked better than I did before I started to cry, and that I made a new friend without doing anything. I walked back to class and I was forced to sit next to Luke. I ignored him the whole time.
Third period came, and I realized that Ben had the same class as me, but this time Luke wasn't there in it to bud in. When I got there Ben was already sitting down, waving me in his direction. I was surprised.
"Hi," I said with a smile on my face.
"Hey."
As I was talking to Ben, I slowly learned knew things about him, for one, he's really funny. I looked at the clock and saw that class was almost half over, I decided to bring up the fight Ben and Luke had at school when he caught Luke cheating on me.
"So, um, Ben," I started to say, "thanks for what you did the other day, you know with Luke."
"No problem, I mean what's a few bruises?"
"Did he hurt you?!!?!" I yelled.
"Ya, but it's nothing! I don't want to create problems! Anyways I started it"
"He can't ju-ugh" I stewed angrily for a while. When I had finally cooled down class had 10 minutes left. I broke the silence and whispered to Ben.
"Why did you defend me when you saw Luke kissing Julia? I mean nobody else did anything."
"That's exactly why. Nobody else did anything. I wouldn't have been able to live with myself knowing that he got away with that, when I could've done something about it."
"Well...thanks" I said.
The bell rang, and Ben and I walked to Lunch together.
