The Surprise Party

The party was held at Lawrence and Paula's place out in the Suburbs. Their home was beautiful with marble floors and all built-in appliances. It had four bedrooms, three bathrooms, a large kitchen, two dining area, a large Living room and and basement. Not to mention the party held at least 60 or more people to welcome O home. When he came in everyone said surprise and welcomed him in. Of course he was surprised especially because he didn't expect it to be so nice. Lawrence made sure everything was set up perfect for his boy. Lawrence couldn't keep his eyes off his wife she was so beautiful in his eyes. Truth be told Paula was one of the baddest chicks from the hood. Plus She was smart and carried herself with class. She was working on becoming a nurse, she didn't come from much but she Strived for the best for her family along with what Lawrence brought to the table. Lawrence admired his wife's beautiful and said to himself he was a lucky man to have her. Paula was mixed with Puerto Rican and black, she had a soft light tone honey complexion, a beauty mole above her lip with long jet black hair that hung down her back and her slim body held curves that made any man drool. Paula was wearing a long fitting silk pink dress had slits on both sides that stopped right pass her thighs, she was a true beauty.

My boy really did it up for me I mean everything was nice down to the food and the all you could drink bar area. He was living good you could tell and I secretly envy that to be honest. Before I went to jail we wasn't Living like this we had one bedroom apartments and me and Travis shared one where I slept on the couch if I wasn't with my baby mother. Now he was living like a king and I was the bum ass home boy who just came home from prison. I shook the thoughts out my head and went to find Lawrence so we could talk business. I noticed he was standing by light skinned beauty and figured that was his wife... Damn he got a bad ass wife to I been locked up to damn long. As I'm heading over to them I see Travis and his wife approach them, he kissed the wife's cheek with a hug and dapped Lawrence up, I stepped up to them and damn near jumped out my skin when I seen Lawrence's wife. She double looked at me before wearing the same shocked expression as me, it was Paula the ex girlfriend I was telling Lawrence about earlier. I guess nobody noticed me and Paula's little scared shock moment because Lawrence went right on to introducing us...
"Oh... Baby this is the man I've been telling you about this is me and Travis's partner in crime... Orlando better know as O... O this is Paula my beautiful wife" Lawrence said proudly.
"It's a pleasure meeting you Paula... I've heard nothing but good things about you" I said extending my hand for her to shake. She paused with a nervous expression before shaking my hand "Like Wise" she said before secretly snatching her hand away.
It was a awkward silence between the five of us until Paula broke it "Umm baby I'ma go check on everything in the kitchen I'll be back". She walked off.
The minute I noticed Travis and Lawrence in a deep conversation I slid of to find Paula. She was in fact in the kitchen where she said she would be with her back towards me mumbling to herself something she always did when she would become to overwhelm and needed to calm her nerves.
"Everything's gonna be okay... You got this" Paula repeated three times before I cut her off.
"Still doing that to calm ya nerves I see" I said interrupting her moment to herself. She faced me with glossy eyes.
"Are you kidding me... You embarrassed me out there"? She said.
"Relax... Nobody knows about us"? I said with a crooked smile on my face.
"Rodney there isn't a us. You lied to me about everything even ya name" she said trying not to raise her voice. Rodney was my middle name but nobody knew me as that except family and Paula.
"You didn't know me as Orlando you knew me as Rodney" I stated clearing things up to smooth her mind. I never in fact lied to her i just didn't tell her my full name.
"I don't care what ya name I really don't... All I need you to know is we're in the past I have a life here now I won't let you ruin it" she said with attitude as she crossed her arms across her chest.
"No you have a life with me remember... Come home with daddy"? I said with a smile and open arms.
She frowned her face "Are you crazy... Listen I'm happily married and I love my husband. What happened between us was years ago before I met my husband.. what we had is done and over with" she said flashing the thousand dollar ring in my face that he had got her.
I frowned my face up "With my right hand manz tho" I said lowering my eyes feeling a tad bit jealous.
Her eyes watered "I didn't know" she whispered. Her eyes got big when she seen Lawrence walked around the corner.
"You didn't know what"? Lawrence asked as his clenched his jaw. Paula was stuck, she didn't know what to say.
"So you and O know each other"? Lawrence asked pointing fingers and both of us.
Damn... It was ready be some shit....
