Chapter 31

10:25 A.M.

                                     Lawrence had just got in from his morning run to the grocery store. He walked in the kitchen and placed all five of the bags down on the counter, Raphael just so happens to enter the kitchen with a basketball in his hands at the same time as his father did. Like a normal son would do he started going through the bags being nosy as L stood there and watched him.
            

"You must have paid for something in there," L said jokingly.

"Nah dad but I'm starving".

L slapped his hand out the bags " Then move then and go wash ya hands".

"Ard what we eating for breakfast"? he asked L.

"I got some eggs, grits, bacon, and pancakes".

Raphael clapped his hands together all excited. "Good, Let me wash up real fast and then I'ma help you".

"I was thinking after we eat maybe me and you could go and "... In the middle of L saying his statement his cell phone started to ring " Yo.... wait what.... slow down come again.... he was where". The concern in his father's voice made Raphael stop dead in his tracks and face his dad, all he was hoping was that Shi'day was okay because she hadn't come home last night.

L sat his phone on the counter and just stood there with this blank stare that his son couldn't read at the moment. " Dad Wassup what happened"? L didn't answer instead, he just looked up at Raphael with sad watery eyes and with that look, Raphael knew something bad had happened to someone.

         Shi'day and Mishon had just walked through the door of her house. She was planned on leaving back out with after she changed her clothes, but when she entered the living room and noticed the horrifying looks on her brother and father's face causing  her stomach instantly turn. Standing directly next to Mishon, She questioned "Why the long faces, i mean y'all look like someone just died or something"?

" Sit down Shi'day" L said, with hurt in his voice. Not hesitating, Shi'day walked over to the couch with Mishon standing next to her and sat down. Her confused eyes set on her brother and father as she waited for someone to tell her what happened.

Lawrence inhaled deep as he stuffed his hands in his pockets. "They found uncle Benny dead this morning in his house". When those words left L's lips, Shi'day gasped for air, covering her mouth. " Oh my God... What happened to him"? She asked as tears formed in her eyes.

"Someone shot him" L said as he tried to keep his composure. He glanced up at Mishon and noticed his whole facial expression and body movement had changed. It was like something had just hit me hard, he stood there stuck.  "But you know what's funny... Your the only person who knew Benny was my uncle" L said, pointing at Mishon. Mishon looked up at him and frowned his face up "Wait... What you saying"?

" I'm saying you knew all about Benny and it's crazy how you just popped up out the blue now sudden your dating my daughter" L stated.

"Daddy".
" No Shi' I need to ask" he cut her off... " What did you do"?

"Mane I ain't do shit excuse my language... I been with your daughter the whole day and night that's it... too be honest I'm just as shocked as you are. This is so new news to me too" Mishon said calmly even though inside he was furious at the fact Lawrence would even accuse him.

After a moment of silence, Lawrence looked back at Mishon with angry eyes " You need to leave".

Without saying another word to defend his innocent, he walked away and left out the door. Shi'day wanted to jump up and run after her man but it was as if she was glued to the seat and devastated about uncle Benny. He was her favorite great uncle and now he was gone. She remember when she was little he would come over and give her and Raphael money and gifts at least twice a week.

L stated as he paced the floor"Baby I need you to stay away from him until I figure this out". He then turned and left the room leaving Shi and Rapheal alone, mourning.

A soft, shocked cry escaped her lips and she sat there in disbelief. Another death in the family and trust me this one hit hard too.

     Mishon sat slumped down on the couch in deep thought. Everything was rushing through his mind from Benny down to Shi'day. Damon and Lil.Travis talked amongst themselves while O played the madden on the PlayStation. "This shit ain't right" said space, shaking his head.

"Right like who the fuck would wanna take Benny out"? Said Ronny, sitting in disbelief.  " Mane if it was one of them Puerto Rican cats i'ma murder all them niggas" Damon admitted.

Without taking his eyes off the game, O said "Mane son realize, that nigga Benny probably had it coming".  What he didn't notice was Mishon had his eyes glued on him. He had a feeling that O might had something to do with what happened to Benny, but he didn't have prove.  When that comment left O's mouth he wanted to reach up and slap the taste out of his mouth but then again maybe he was tripping. He got up and left the room and due to everyone being in there own world and conversation they hadn't noticed his exit.

A few days later~

    Shi'day had just got off work at the hospital when she noticed O was standing leaned on her car. She slowed down her steps with her eyes on him, the closer she got the more she wondered why he was here at her job.  " Can I help you"? She asked.

He inhaled the last hit of his cigarette before tossing it to the ground "Yeah you Shi'day right"? He asked, being funny. She frowned up her face and rolled her eyes " You know who I am now why are you here at my job"?

He chuckled as he leaned up off the car "Your feisty you know that... It's cool it's cute. You remind me of your mother and ya father when they were young".

Confused to how he knew her mother she went on to ask her next question " How you know my parents and again why are you here? I don't know you and you don't know me".

"Oh baby doll I know more than you think" he laughed and shook his head from side to side "Anyways I'm not gonna hold you up you seem like a busy girl i just wanted you to watch ya boy Mishon. He isn't who you think he is and if you let him too close to you he's gonna fuck you over too" he said causing her to look down in thinking mode.

O started to walk away "Don't be his next victim baby girl" was all he said before he walked away leaving her standing there lost and confused. But this was all part of O's plan and if he played it right he would have her right where he wanted her to be.
