Night time:
Shi'day
I was so relieved when Mishon came to get me I don't know what I would do if he wouldn't have came, let's just say I wont have to worry about Chase no more. I glanced at Mishon as he drove with the thought in the back of my head of the type of person he was.
"Who are you"? I gained up the courage to ask him. He glanced over at me then he pulled the truck over and parked.
"Why you ask that"? He asked.
"I don't know who you are so tell me... Who are you Mishon"? I said calmly.
He sighed and looked over at me "I'ma cool ass nigga" he chuckled. I gave him that crazy look "Beside that... Who are you what do you do"?
"Are you asking me do I work"? He asked raising his eye brows.
"Not necessarily... But do you"? I asked.
He smirked "I work with Rich people. I basically help them with what they need my help with".
I nodded "So why do you have a gun"? I said lowly. I wasn't to sure if I wanted to know the answer tho.
"For protection... Listen baby girl we live in the city of Chicago. I don't know how it is in the part of Chicago you stay in but I'm from the hood, I'm a known man so I have to have protection on me" he said.
I nodded. "You still in school"? He asked.
I shook my head no and looked away. He frowned his face up and stared at me "Why not"? He questioned. For a minute he acted like my father.
"The night my mother passed I was waiting for her to come home so I could give her my test that I scored a hundred on. When I found out she was dead I balled it up and threw it away" I said.
"Why tho babe??? You not telling me why" he said still trying to push the truth out of me.
"Because when she died so did my dreams" I sadly said.
He sighed and nodded his head. "So does ya dad know you left school"?
I shook my head no "I haven't told him yet".
"How long has it been"?
"It's been Months now. I dropped out Before my birthday" I said.
"How old are you now? I forgot ya mom said you had a birthday coming up" he said with a smile.
"Im 21 now" I said.
He nodded "Oh okay you grown now" he chuckled.
"I been that" I said.
He chuckled again "No you haven't. You just think you been grown".
"If you say so" I laughed.
"I know so ma" he laughed. We went back and forth for a minute. "How did you meet my mother"? I asked switching subjects.
He sighed "I've known ya mother since I was a kid" I chuckled. "She was good to a nigga and my family he and my dad were closer than close" he said.
"Her and ya dad dated before"? I asked. He shook his head no "Nah, they were just friends he told me. But he loved ya mother tho".
"She never talked about her past with us, it was like once we got older she left shit in the past" I admitted.
"Did ya dad come to the funeral??? I didn't see you with anyone else" I asked.
He looked down with a puzzled expression before looking back up at me "Nah... He was killed when I was younger".
My mouth dropped "Oh God... I'm so sorry".
"It's cool ma... I miss him but I don't dwell on it. It's easier that way" he said. I felt bad, I had no idea about his father.
"I guess we both got someone we miss" I said with a smile. "Yeah we do" he said agreeing.
It was a silence between us until he broke it "I know you don't know me as well as you should but trust me I wanna get to know you. I won't hurt you" he said. I looked in his eyes and knew he meant what he said.
I stared at him "Am I safe with you"? I asked.
He stared back at me with a calm expression "You'll always be safe with me". He said in a deep voice.
"I hope so" I said.
He nodded staring at me "I know these things". He smiled again.
I was starting to really like Mishon it was something special I felt for him. That type of connection I never had with anyone else.
He leaned over and pecked at my lips before we both dived in to a real kiss.
I was nervous about jumping into something with Mishon but with him I was willing to take my chances. Little did I know I was involving myself in something beyond my control.
