Chapter 28

           Mishon and Shi'day rode quietly the whole ride to her house. There were so many questions she wanted to ask him but was scared to right now he wasn't acting his self she never seen him so off and distracted. Let alone he barely looked at her the whole time since he came back in the house from talking to his boys. He pulled up to her house and put his car in park as he held his head low thinking.

Shi'day faced him "Did I do something wrong... Who were those boys and that man"? She asked.

He didn't respond instead he sat there still with his head low.

"Mishon" she said raising her voice a little as she shook him lightly. He finally looked up at her but this time with sad and low eyes.

"Mishon talk to me ... What's wrong"? She begged.

"Shi'day I can't be with you" he said.

Her mouth dropped "What ... What did I do"?

"Shi'day it's a lot of things you don't know that I can't tell you and I can't drag you in" he admitted.

"Mishon, I don't care about what you do I told you that so you don't have to do this to me... I still want to be with you" she said in a soft voice.

He eyed her and shook his head at her "I just can't do this shi'... You mean alot to me and I don't wanna hurt you".

"But your hurting me right now" she said as tears whelped up in her eyes as she grabbed her hand.

When she noticed he was still wearing the same expression and didn't seem to care about her feelings she let go of his hand.

She wiped her eyes before the tears could fall "I don't ever wanna see you again" she said, she got out the car and slammed the door.

Mishon faught him self so hard not to get out the car and run after her. She couldn't see what he was trying to avoid in her eyes he had just broke up with her without a legitimate reason.

Soon as she got in the house she ran up to her room locked the door and slide down the wall crying her out. He had just broke her heart, she felt like she couldn't breathe all she kept doing was trying to replay moments in her head of what she could have done wrong.

         Days later:

Mishon, lil. Travis and Damon were at a meeting with Benny about a new Puerto Rican connect. O said he had some shit to do so he didn't go with them. Benny talked to the crew for a hour about what was expected at the drop that they had to make in a couple hours. But deep down his mind was stuck on Shi'day. For days she been on his mind heavy he wanted to make up with her so bad but he knew he couldn't jeopardize nothing.

They made the drop and a even trade then they part ways. Mishon still hadn't really said much to Damon he felt like since O came home Damon had changed for the worst and he knew the more time he spent around him he was bound to fuck him up.

    At Lawrence's Restaurant

Shi'day sat off to herself at a table reading a book. Ever five or so she would check her phone hoping Mishon would text her or call but them chances grew slim when time went by. She missed him she just wanted to see him talk to him and be in his arms and him giving her the cold shoulder hurt her more.

Monica entered the restaurant and sat down at the table where Shi'day was sitting. Shi'day looked up at her and gave a small smile.

"Hey mama" Monica said, she seen the hurt in her best friends eyes she wanted to hunt Mishon down but what would that do.

"Hey" Shi'day said softly as she closed her book.

"How's everything"? Monica asked.

Shi'day shoved her shoulders and gave another small smile.

"Have to talked to him"? She asked.

Shi'day shook her head no and looked down "I don't know what happened" she said as she wiped her tears from her cheeks.

"So the last time you talked to him was that night"? Monica asked.

"Yeah... It was so weird his homeboys came over and I don't know what was said to him but he changed after that".

"What homeboy's"? Monica asked frowning her eye brows.

"The two from that party and some older dude and he kept looking at me weirdly... I'm just so confused I don't know what happened ".

"Listen don't you beat ya self up... If he really cares for you he will come back around with a real good explanation... But if he don't move on and do better babygirl" Monica said keeping it real with her friend.

"Your just in love" Monica added with a smile trying to brighten up Shi'day's mode.

"I just don't understand... Like I never imagined letting no dude get that close to me and since my mom passed I never made a dude my focus and then I met him and he changed all that. I really thought he cared about me and this hurts" shi'day said pouring out her heart. And she was speaking nothing but the truth Mishon was the first and only person she let get close to her since Paula passed let alone period. She was never stuck on a dude she thought they all were a waste of time but Mishon gave her a change of heart. And now She felt like her heart had been ripped out, balled up and thrown away. Mishon was the only person she felt like she could turn to with all she was dealing with she felt like he understood. They had so much in common that nobody could understand but them, they had a bond.

Monica nodded and listened to her friend pour her heart and soul out to her. She always was there when shi' needed her she was a true definition of a best friend.

"Everything that you going through is gonna pass by ... And baby I know your hurt but your also strong. Babygirl you lost ya mother and that's enough to brake anyone down especially because of the relationship that you and ya mom had then you meet a dude who you grew to care about and he just ups and decided to brake up with you and don't at least explain why I know your hurt but I promise you all this hurt your feeling will pass by and no matter what I will be by ya side" Monica said keeping it all the way a hundred with Shi'day.

Shi nodded her head with glossy eyes before braking down as tears fall down her cheeks.

"Aw don't cry babe" Monica said as she came over to Shi'day's side and hugged her.

" I'm pretty sure he misses you just as much as you miss him" Monica added, trying her best to comfort her friend. She never seen Shi'day so hurt so she knew she really loved Mishon.

     A week later

Lawrence had an important meeting to go to for his business and Rapheal was studying for a test with his friend so he asked Shi'day to lock up the restaurant at closing time. She had made sure everything was straight and cut off before she closed. She grabbed her belongings and headed for the door. As Soon as she locked the door she turnt around and stood shocked as she stood face to face with the last person she thought she wouldn't see again.
