I watch quietly as all my belongings are moved from this room to a more secure one. When the last box is gone a guard walks to me.
"Are you ready?"
I don't have to look up at him to know he's scared. I could hear it in his voice. He likely didn't know a single thing about me aside from my being a Mauranian.
"Yes," I stand and walk submissively with him to my new room. Zen follows, overseeing everything.
"Master are you sure about this? She has me. There's no danger in letting her-"
I cut off Obi, "It's fine, Obi. Let the prince do what he thinks it's right." I level my eyes with Zen's cooly, "Even if you don't agree with him."
Obi looks at me with a conflicted expression.
I smile easily at him, "Everything will be fine."
We arrive at the room I was to stay in too soon.
I step in and look around at the plain, windowless walls.
"I'll come back later with Izana. He has some things he would like to ask you."
I nod and go to lay on the bed. The door shuts and I'm alone.
For the first time I look at my stitched arm and feel...nothing. It was strange. I was oddly numb.
